It's Party Time
First of all to be clear, if you want to have the guys over for a get together without any issues, involve and invite your wife. Make your wife a part of the party by letting her be the host. The following is a sweet comment from my husband, "It is a known fact that in this household she has the upper hand when it comes to the decorating and the party planning. It is like she has a knack for it. Some women just have a certain gift when it comes to entertaining and they are a great host. I am not saying that you make her your waitress for the evening but, she might not care to serve as a hostess for your party.
My dad and I cooked for my boss one year and I really had a great time. Make your time with your friends a fun time for family as well whenever it is feasible. Family, friends and work make up a great time at the house for a get together. My boss was very good to his employees so, we were together quite a bit.
Ok, back to guys night! Always have a great sports show on, and make sure you have a big screen television set. Surround sound would not be a bad idea either. If you have a large cooler fill it with ice and drinks so it will be handy during your sporting event. I picture this man's party in a basement so, it would be even better if you are able to have a spot for refrigerator. That way the drinks are very convenient to your friends. Have plenty of back up drinks and snacks so that there will be no store runs while you are having a great time with the guys. Hope you have a great party.
Decorating: If it a themed party, help your wife before hand with decorations to suit your party. You will be having a fun time with her and then at the end of the night your are getting to chill with your buddies. Some themed parties I thought about were having a Boxing Night, Fourth of July, Football Night, Card Night, just to name a few.
Making The Food: Again, depending on what type of crowd you will hosting and what kind of event you will have will help you determine a menu. If you are having a BBQ, help your wife by grilling the meat, while she can work on the baked beans, special coleslaw, french fries and potato salad. You can run back and forth and work on the beans and help her in the kitchen.
Arranging the Drinks: A cute idea for the drinks is to have a galvanized bucket or plastic bucket or a cooler full of ice and throw in the various drinks that your friends like. Have a variety from waters to tea, cokes. If your crowd likes alcohol, it is not a horrible thing to ask them to bring what they like to drink.
A good idea for the food is to set up buffet style so that the men can just serve themselves. Whether the food is served in the basement or in the living room, TV trays can be used so that everyone has a place to put their drinks. Make sure plenty of paper towels are around and of course keep ice on hand for the guests.
I am very easy going and if my man wanted to have some guys over to watch boxing or a football game or just hang out and watch a movie, I can make myself scarce in a back bedroom and read, play on facebook, pinterest or work on hubpages. As long as you are not having a guys night two-three times per month, most women would be ok with having some friends over. Once a month should be fine. It is always good to have friends over to socialize and get together with your friends whenever possible. With our busy lives now a days, it is hard to get together unless something is kind of planned.
A suggestion to stay on the wife's good side is to not leave and big mess. If you have to use a huge garbage can that is better than making your wife clean up everything. To keep from doing a lot of dishes you can use all plastic utensils except for serving spoons. You can try to keep it simple by only using dishes that have to be washed just for serving.
Note to the men out there: If all else fails, just promise her she can have a girls night in. (The husband said that he would disappear for the evening).

Be Safe Not Sorry
When grilling out be sure and keep a container of water near by. At least when using a charcoal grill so you can prevent flame flare ups. Or even better a fire extinguisher. Never leave a burning grill unattended for long periods of time and keep a good look on the food so it does not burn.
Always be prepared before you start up your grill and have everything you may need handy.
