Shut out pettiness

The world is full of hypocrites and petty mean spirited people. They're our ex's, family members, co-workers and friends. A hypocrite is a person who fails to practice what they preach or professes certain ideas but fails to live up to them. He or she is ignorant and small minded. Stubborn and spiteful. Their actions are ridiculously shallow and upsetting to a kind hearted person. I learned the best way to deal with this type of person is to swallow my pride and shut it out in order to move on and live in peace.

Never enable a petty mind

The urban dictionary describes petty as: when someone takes a small subject and blows it out of proportion. I always felt so sorry for a petty and mean spirited person. But now I don't because they have an option just like the rest of us to change their attitude and for what ever reason they don't. In their mind they are so focused on themselves with a " poor me attitude." I used to want to help but all it did was bring me down to their level and drain my good energy. I realized after dealing with their pettiness that I was enabling this person to possess their negative qualities into me. I couldn't change this persons mind no matter how hard I tried and I didn't want to end up facilitating their bad behaviors.

A petty and mean spirited person is never truly satisfied. They have that constant need to argue with someone over the minor issues which end up being nothing. It might be because of their own insecurities or downfalls and their unhappiness. That's the only thing I can really think of. They want your attention and because we don't give it to them they act and retaliate with pettiness. They create unnecessary drama in our lives until they are satisfied that they brought us down to their level.

Be happy

A person with integrity and values is a humble person. They focus on acts of kindness and compassion. They want to help and they actually care about the well being of of others and expect nothing in return. They show respect and have good morals. When dealing with a petty and mean spirited person it's best to remain humble. You just have to walk away when the time has come and you realize this petty person won't change. Never walk away if you're doing it out of anger and retaliation. You must feel good enough about it and stay strong. Cut ties and move on because the best thing is to kill a negative mind with silence and kindness. Keep your integrity and remember your values. The truth is a petty person is envious of a truly happy person.

" It might be because of their own insecurities or downfalls and their unhappiness. " Great information. This statement is 100% true. People who don't feel good about themselves often resent the person trying to climb the latter, achieving success, or wanting greatness in life.
