How to Be Myself?

Updated on March 28, 2022

How to be myself? A common question being asks nowadays. But first, I am pretty sure what grab your attention is the picture beside. You might have guessed it right! Yes, you are totally right. Being yourself is not a solo task, there got to have someone or many people around you making who you are today! Most of the people wanted to be themselves again but actually they just wanted to be someone they desire. Not myself.

Before you started to wonder how to be myself, take a deep breath and think. Why you wanted to do it? Why am I so desperately wanted to change who I am today? Am I negative, pessimistic, easily angry? Am I drug-addicted, smoke-addicted or even alcoholic? If those are case then you should not be changing yourself but instead stop all these negative actions and thoughts. Well if that is not the case then here are some of the ways to actually changing yourself to you.

1.) Think and Act.

In order for you to change, think about what you wanted to change. You don’t go around telling people that you wanted to change and wait for miracle to be happened. We called it miracles for a reason. Let’s say you wanted to stop being a bully. Don’t just stand there! Go apologize to the people u bullied. Although u might get insulted or shouted but don’t expect your sins to wash away like nothing happen. Start making changes, but think before you do.

2.) Friends around you.

Friends around you are the people made who you are today. You don’t like it? Just dump them. You might think that only they understand you, they are my only friends and without them I will be lifeless. Then you are wrong. They understood you because you wanted to be in their friends circle without thinking what you really want. Friends comes and goes, they will not be your only friends. Some friends are bad influences so do not hesitate or scare to cut the ties. Now we talk about lifeless? No worries, he comes my next point to solve it out.

3.) New obsession.

Sometimes changing who you are means changing what you been doing all along. Your old obsession is gaming and hanging out with friends. Dumping them would probably make you lifeless and that’s true to some extent. But dude, life does not end just like that, u can’t call it lifeless. Some people don’t even the time to live the life they wanted yet you are wasting your time Google-ing “How to be myself”. Be productive, join a sports club, start doing part-time jobs or you can even try Hubbing! You’ll eventually found something you love to do and here comes you new self.

4.) Stop worrying and start caring.

You will not be getting anything by worrying. Nothing at all! Instead, you try to use the time wasted and your outstanding brain to care for other people, pets, automobile or even your computer starting now. Who said caring can only be used on humans? We need to take good care of our computer just like caring for your loved ones. You can do regular clean-ups, defragments, uninstalling and deleting old files and applications. You can also play with your pet, brothers and sisters. Just stop those all these stupid worrying thought and use it on something else. Anything is better than wasting time on worrying.

5.) Talk, message, whispers or shout.

This is what I normally noticed from people who wanted to change themselves and this seems to be the hardest thing to do. Breaking one word into 4 words above, to put it simply, I basically meant express. Yes, you are right. Express yourself and tell others what you think. Talk to the person you wanted to share your feelings with, start messaging people anything (dumb jokes, forwarded message, etc), whispering to other people regarding your or other people secrets or even shout at the person you dislike the most. Some of these actions you might find it disturbing but it will work. Maybe not every time please refer back to the first point. Think and Act.
