How I Overcame Boredom!

I am from another part of the world, and had no idea of what life would bring for me in a foreign country.

Living in the most southeastern part of Europe is a great change to my lifestyle.

My idea was to buy myself a computer, and get connected to the Internet.

I had to get connected to digital television to occupy some of my days.

All of that worked out great for me. I am no longer bored and know how to fill up my daily schedules.

My summer job keeps me on my feet on most hours all the days of summer.

  • In the winter I call it hibernating time.

The weather keeps me indoors on most day so watching movies, reading and writing are my choices of keeping occupied each day.

I have full days and don't need to think of what to do next on my list.

There is always something to keep my mind at peace.

  • For example:

I met a local person and through conversations have seen that he is faced with boredom all the time. He has a day job, but still fails to keep away from boredom.

Sometimes he feels depressed and alone.

Every task he tries to take on can only last a few hours and he is bored again.

It is not an easy lifestyle for him as his life has become quite a bore and he clings on to those who have activity filled days.

Calling on others when they have their own schedules for the day has caused him to lose many friends.

My time slips by me daily and no time for sitting on the couch and to watching television.

I find that to be a habit for many people who live sedentary lives.

My daily activities concerns outdoors during the summer time.

Keeping busy with good communication is one of the greater parts of my day.

Overcoming boredom may sound a bore to you with the same old list to do.

I don't want to be like that old tape recorder going on and on about how I spend my days. I discovered that since my life has changed dramatically.

I am no longer bored with new choices in my life.

I talk to different people from most parts of the world, and a good conversation can last twenty minutes to half an hour.

Though not everyone will find communication a way to relieve boredom.

I observe my beautifier surroundings daily and that brings me joy and happiness.

I listen to my favorite radio station streaming online and enjoy all the kinds of music I hear daily.

When alone I don't feel alone. I have a close-net community and a simple wave, or hello to one passing by gives me a thrill for the day or the moment.

  • Boredom is not part of my life anymore.

I make sure to keep busy with whatever needs attention and the constant planning in my mind allows me to think and re-think my plans.

My thoughts keep me at ease.

I don't allow boredom to get in my way.

If you allow boredom to get to you unhappiness and depression can catch up to you.

I look around and capture odd photos that make me feel good about my place.

A way to fill my already occupied days.

A few minutes each day to myself is also what I need to relax and feel spiritual.

I sometimes have people stop by for a quick chat and a laugh that too gets me up and going each day.

You don't have to spend all day online to avoid boredom. Write a letter to a friend and leave Facebook out for the day. You will see how good you can feel without that social kind of life.

It makes a difference when you get outdoors for that fresh air and notice what surrounds you.

  • Why should you be bored with life?

There is so much to do than to sit back and give up on life.

  • Ever heard someone telling you, ''life is so boring?''

  • Is your life so boring that you can't have good relationships with other people?

  • Do you think your life is boring?

You can bored with your day job or with your daily lifestyle.

  • Are you scared of taking on new challenges?

  • Do you feel that other people do better in creating excitement for you than you actually doing it for yourself?

Being dependent on others to make your world happen doesn’t work out as well.

If you depend on others to make your world filled with excitement you will not be happy with your life.

The constant waiting on others to make your life exciting will not satisfy you completely.

Depression comes from total boredom.

When you don't take full advantage of greater opportunities that shows you lack of confidence.

An individual who lacks confidence is afraid to go forward in taking on new challenges.

You need a confidence booster and why not go ahead and try new things to make your life uplifting.

The little problems can become bigger problems if you don't try to make the attempt for a better you.

  • You can feel like a loser or as a winner no matter what you have on your mind when it comes to getting out of boredom it is up to you.

Change your thinking and overcome boredom with something new daily.

Get out of bed with a full mind and see how you can make that difference to yourself.

It is easy to sit back and get bored with yourself but if you continue with such thoughts boredom and really get to you.

Unpleasant thoughts can make you feel bored you have to get out of that dull mind.

Be alert and think of new projects that will change you or your surroundings.

Be creative around your garden or home.

Every individual is at fault for announcing their boredom. Boredom is evil to you.

  • What mostly affects people in their daily lives?

Pain and boredom can hurt you horribly.

Boredom brings negative thoughts to you.

To lead the same old routine from day-to-day brings boredom to you.

Change the way you live from day-to-day.

No good ideas brings boredom to you.

  • Don't get me wrong here, if you are in quiet moment that does not mean boredom.

I have noticed that the younger generation when in a quiet moment they immediately feel bored. Think positive daily and you will see how great your day will be.

Do what is beneficial to you.

Anyone can feel bored be it after retirement or while at day job. If you don't have a proper plan for the day you will feel bored.

I avoid negative thoughts and look forward to another better day.

My life has taught me to laugh more and appreciate what I have right in front of me.

You will find happiness in what you do from the heart.

Lives in general in never boring but most people find their lives boring. It is how one chooses to be.

  • Do what your heart desires.

I have grown use to quietness and don't call it boredom. To me quiet means peace and tranquility.

Boredom can take the joy out of you don't let boredom get in the way of your life.

Look at your life and see how much you can do and also enjoy what you do.

  • There is no time to feel boredom.

I used to be bored when I was younger, now I haven't felt that sensation for a while. The last time I felt bored was when a thunderstorm made our lights go away in the evening, luckily my hubby had the brilliant idea to use a solar-powered light and play cards.

I agree one has to keep busy to not be bored. I am retired but not bored. I have so much to keep me busy, I honestly don't get bored. Who could be bored who writes in HP? LOL! But, it is better to be too busy than sitting around wondering what to do.

I can't remember the last time I was bored although I often complain I'm too busy. There aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done that I'd like to. My 7 year old daughter however is constantly saying she is bored. Thanks for sharing your interesting tips.

Hi, Boredom is a human trait as is feeling sorry for oneself. Like you I find quietness and tranquillity very relaxing a way to recharge the spiritual batteries. There is a lot of good advise here which should be heeded. Great write about a subject that affects many people. Voted up, useful and interesting.

Great advice DDE, now if I have nothing to do (which is rare) I write, so never get bored. When my kids used to say "I'm bored!" We would reply, "bored people are boring". Another saying was "If you want something to get done ask a busy person." Voted up.

I hear "I'm bored" from grandchildren all the time. I can't imagine anyone being "bored" with the many things we have at our fingertips to occupy our time and stimulate the senses. Even if one can't afford internet, public libraries have it. If the library didn't have closing hours, I could spend days there. lol. This was nice to read your remedies and as usual, your pictures are complementary to your articles. Voted up.
