How To Have A Good Marriage

Updated on August 10, 2013

There are many books and articles on how to have a happy marriage. All of them offer sage advice. Here is a composite of that advice: Caring, communication, loving disposition, kindness, forgiveness, tolerance, endurance, perseverance, assiduity, trustworthiness, benevolence, mercy, compassion, thriftiness, joyful disposition, spirituality, political sensitivity, the ability to put yourself in another’s shoes, sharing nature, responsibility, the ability to overcome laziness, freedom from greed, hatred and ignorance, be sexually playful, at times be submissive.

This list is a partial list of requirements and attributes to have a good marriage. You can obviously sit here and add a nearly endless list to complete my meager effort. However, despite all the possible words and phrases to teach us how to have a good marriage, I believe you need do only one thing to have a good marriage. Do more for your loved one then you want them to do for you; It is that simple.
