 Oh dear this cold.....
Oh dear this cold.....
Young or Old? Look carefully...
Young or Old? Look carefully...

MOTHER'S

Treat your Mother with respect, always! Even more so when they become aged...it is difficult to age

...it seems like yesterday when YOU were just my baby...so dependent on my care, my touch, my words,my understanding,my undying love...there was nothing I would not do for YOU...

YOU were not able to care for yourself and maybe didn't understand what life was all about...but your eyes glistened and your smile, oh my, your smile melted hearts, and the sweet sounds you made...

...which to a Mother never change, though YOU learn to speak and give your opinions (right or wrong),make up your own mind, choose your destination, and eventually you leave home..sometimes a distance comes between YOU and your Mother, there may be many reason's why, but seldom is it the way YOU want it in your heart...

...and as Mother's grow older (dad's to, but this in honor of Mother's Day) or are left alone , don't forget her...and as Mother becomes unable to do all she once did, have the patience she once had for YOU, when she can't remember, try to remember for her, when she is unable to drive any longer, be her taxi cab like she was for YOU, look into her glistening eyes and give her a Hug, look at the smile she has when YOU come around, and be glad she is still here , and YOU now have the chance to return all that Love she still has in her heart for YOU, even when she can't remember for sure who YOU are...

...there are times now in my life that I am so glad to be here, just for my Mother...I have had a chance to return all the caring and love she once had for me...there was a long period of time when we were not even friends, and as the eldest child in the family I have now become the ONLY child able to care for her...

...I believe God sent her to me (she has Alzheimer's Disease ) so I could become a better person, and she actually saved my life by being sent to me...( I was in a depressed state, bad one)... So  one never knows for sure what life will bring to YOU, but once YOU have a Mother ,YOU know YOU will forever be loved and also I think ,needed.

...she doesn't remember I am her daughter, but she likes me, her smile and glistening eyes tell me that every time I go get her...she recognizes me as the person who comes to visit and takes her for rides...YOU see the rest of the family are either too busy or live in other states...so is me and her, basically...anyway enough about me , here is a poem, song? I wanted to remind YOU all of, I am sure YOU will remember it...

M..is for the Million things she told me

O..means only that she's growing old

T..is for the tears she shed to save me

H..is for her heart of precious Gold

E..is for her Love light shining

R..means right and right she'll always be

...put them all together...they spell MOTHER a word that means the world to me...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM'S EVERYWHERE ! ! ! ! :O) Hugs

This touched me G-ma, which reminds me of my own Mom who developed Alzheimer's, and it was hard seeing a perfectly vital woman become like a child. I just found a poem I wrote for her years ago, thanks to your hub, and I may share with everyone.

Your Mom is blessed to have you around, God bless you!

This is a nice tribute to your mother and all the mothers of the world. Sometimes when I'm in pain and things become unbearable, there's only one name that I cry out to. But I think God, in his infinite wisdom, would understand why sometimes my mother's name comes first before His. Thanks for sharing this truly wonderful hub. I lurve ya bigtime! Hugs :D

G-Ma.....Mothers and Grandmothers are treasures. I use to bring my mother flowers in my childhood when we lived on a farm. I went back years later....the farmhouse was nothing but a chimney and foundation. There were flowers like I had given her, where the kitchen had been.

      Wishing you flowers and hugs!

My husband, my mother and I all now live together along with our animals. It is good because my mother's memory is fading and she is depending upon us more and more. My husband's grandmother suffered with Alzheimers and his mother had the care of her. We helped her as much as we could. So I can relate to what you are doing and where this is going. May God bless you and your dear mother and wishing you a Happy Mother's Day this coming Sunday.
