Internet Dating - Christian Mingle

Updated on January 10, 2015

Love is great and this life is not meant to be lived alone. There is some type of magic you experience when you have a partner who shares your views, is honest, respectful, romantic, hard working, and just makes you laugh and smile, just because. Yes, I am talking about the real world and many couples share this same magic. However, on the flip side, there are many, many single persons who long to share their life with that special someone, be it for a day, week, month, or a lifetime, and are turning to online dating sites (by the millions) for help with finding that special someone. One of the top, most successful internet dating sites is Christian Mingle ( and I would like to share my recent experience:

The thought of internet dating was very creepy to me, until I met my current husband. I tried Christian Mingle and signed up for a 3 month subscription, as an experiment, just to have some fun. Little did I know, this would be one of my best experiments to-date. I believe I joined Christian Mingle on November 25, 2013, and was only online for approximately 1 day, before I received my first wink (or smile) from my now husband. I was intrigued on our initial phone call, right at “Hello” and after SEVEN (7) wonderful hours, we both desired to learn more of each other.

Our whimsical journey went full speed ahead, with us talking on the phone everyday, several times a day, and several hours a day, which was not even enough for us. We had such a spiritual connection and hadn’t even met face-to-face yet. Shortly afterwards, my husband came to meet me in Texas and the magic continued. He scheduled a four-day trip, but extended the trip for an additional 3 days, so our first time meeting was for one solid week. Boy, did we have such a wonderful time,

A few weeks later, I traveled to New Orleans, to get a feel of how my honey was living. Mind you, after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, I never vowed to journey back to New Orleans, EVER. It is amazing how you should never, say never. We have our plans, but God has our destiny already mapped out. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stayed in New Orleans, and did not want to leave and cried many, many tears when it was time for me to return home.

To make a long story short, I met my husband, on November 25, 2013, he proposed to me on February 25, 2014, I put my home on the market (March 1, 2014), and it sold in one day, and we were joined together in holy matrimony on April 14, 2014 (04-14-2014), in a private ceremony. Ahhhh, what a wonderful story. : )

I am thankful to Christian Mingle for providing the internet source for my husband and me to meet and encourage others to give internet dating a try, at their own pace.
