It Starts with Goodbye

Updated on June 23, 2014

Do you think the word "Love" is often misused too soon in relationships? (one star for no, five stars for absolutely)

4 out of 5 stars from 2 ratings of Love is Often Misused too Soon in Relationships

It Starts with Goodbye

I know who you are now, It was all a big lie,

I’m better off without you, But why do I still cry?

As I sit here and think, I can’t figure it out,

What I did was right, Without any doubt.

I’m getting over you, I don’t like what I see,

You’re no longer that guy, That you were with me.

You broke my heart, But that was long ago,

I’m no longer in love with you, I thought you should know.

I’m just having a hard time, Understanding why,

When I look back at “us”, I start to cry.

I’ve come to realize, You’ll always be a part of me,

Our good times will remain, In my heart indefinitely.

So, I guess it’s gonna hurt, I guess I’m gonna cry,

I’ll have to let go of something I loved, To get to the other side.

I know it now, And I will surely try,

Moving on with the rest of my life, Starts with goodbye.

This is lovely Michelle. You are right... first, you cannot move forward if you keep looking back. Secondly, you have let go and let God have his way!

Making unwise decisions to get too far into relarionships that you shouldn't be in to begin with is a hard trial to over come. Thankfully, with God, ALL things are possible!

Thank you for sharing. I hope this helps someone who needs to let go in order to receive what God has for them if they are patient.

This is so true! . taking that first step (ie saying goodbye and turning away) is the hardest part ..but once you do that. .the rest is pretty much a breeze ...
