It takes two people to make a relationship work

Updated on July 23, 2015

Relationships are a two way street. If one person is doing all of the taking and none of the giving it is never going to work.

So many people think that relationships are all about sex and money. They are about so much more than that. They are about communicating and getting through problems together. They are about honesty and trust. They are about love and respect. Sure every couple has problems but it is how they get through it that matters. If one person is doing all of that but the other person is not then it is not going to work. If one person is trying to think of a way to make the relationship work but the other person is still doing what is wrong the relationship will fail.

There also has to be a balance with the physical intimacy and emotional intimacy. A guy who just wants to hook up but not take a girl out is only looking for friends with benefits. If you want a real relationship look for a guy who is proud to be with you. Look for a guy who will want to spend the weekends with you and has no problem introducing you to his family and friends. Be with a guy who will put you first. You deserve to be more than a booty call. Do not let a guy use you. You deserve better than to be treated like that. Do not sell yourself short.

If you are always doing nice things for your guy but he is not doing anything in return it is never going to work. He should suprise you now and then. He should take care of you when you are sick and do things to make you happy. He should never only do you a favor if sex is involved. He should do you a favor because he wants to be there for you. He should do you a favor because you need him and it is the right thing to do. A guy who loves you will do anything for you. He will bend over backwards for you. A guy who will only do you a favor if sex is involved is not the guy for you.

You should not be the one who is always initiating contact. There is nothign wrong with contacting your guy or making plans but he should chase you now and then. He should pick the date. If he is always cancelling on you then that should tell you something. If he is always doing favors for other people but when it comes to you he will not even lift a finger, only for sex that should also tell you something.

Do not let a guy walk all over you. Do not wait for him if he is treating you like garbage. If he is not going out of his way for you then do not go out of your way for him. Take a stand and show him that you are not going to put up with any of the things that he does. There are relationships where guys do not know how to treat girls and the girls just sit back and take it. The girls are always crying and stressed out because of how they are being treated.

If you are in a relationship like this talk to the person. Tell the person how you feel. If the person does not understand how you feel then get out. There are a million guys out there and the right guy will appreciate you. The right guy will make changes if he is doing something that he knows is upsetting you.The right guy will do anything to make the relationship work and you happy. Do not waste your time on the wrong one when you could be with the right one.

If a guy is making you cry more than smile than he is not the guy that you want to be with. Relationships are supposed to bring you happiness and not stress. Forget this guy and move onto someone who will bring you nothing but joy. The right guy is out there. It just takes time finding him.

Do you believe it takes two people to make a relationship work?
