Love At First Sight, Do You Really think it exists?

Or is it simply Infatuation...

I have struggled with this issue for years. Does love at first sight really exist? I have spoken to many men and women about it. More often than enough, I found that men have had more instances of "Love at First Sight" than women. Strange isn't it? But, I have also realized that these men never really ended up spending their lives with this special person. Either the relationship ended prematurely or there was never a relationship to begin with.

I know of only one couple today to have had a "Love at First Sight" experience. They met at the young age of thirteen, married in their twenties, have four kids and are still happily married and in love for nearly twenty years now!

Most love at first sight experiences are usually felt by only one of the parties involved. I personally have never experienced this situation. I have never been in a situation like this. Yes, I have met men that made my jaw drop, but not enough to be in love. Love has always come slowly to me AFTER getting to know the person well enough. The feeling has never dropped down on me like a fat raindrop before a summer storm. Oh well..guess I'm not wired for that.

My men friends (and ex boyfriends) have described the feeling as being more infatuation orientated, from looks more than anything else..based on that, and only that. Once they got to know the person, well that all changed. Funny!

Let me know what you think about this, would like to get your feedback!

Love at first sight sure does exist. I met my wife in college. It was love at first sight from day one, I went after her and we got married there after. We are still happily married today. I would still marry her if there were a second time

I believe in love at first sight and knowing him for about 3 years only makes me love him more. However like it says in the third paragraph " Most love at first sight experiences are usually felt by only one of the parties involved". That would be me so do i keep holding on to love seeing if it's meant to be it will happen or walk away sad that he didn't feel the same or happy that i was able to feel such a wonderful piece of love that when i do find someone who feels the same it will be a magical moment???. If only he felt the same but i can't make him love me if he doesn't.

It is real. I wrote the hub you left a link on

about a year ago on a bad day.

But it does exist. I actually met my soul mate in a dream and he came like magic. I don't know if you call it fate or what but it happened for me and he regards me as his soul mate as well.

When we met, I wasn't really attracted to him and he wasn't very attracted to me either but something else was there with us and now I think he is the most beautiful man in the world.

I guess love at first sight in the sense of sight might not be all it is said to be, but I know that it still existed with us even when we didn't recognize it. :D

Definitely, it's real! My husband and I met, fell in love immediately, and were engaged two weeks later--married six weeks after that...

Almost 21 years later, we still feel the same way!!!:)

Yes, I believe it is real. still, it takes devotion to keep the feeling alive!
