TODAY happens to be my second anniversary on Hubpages...

Many of you know that some time ago - i sadly packed my Hub bags and made my way out into the cold hard world...

I hated leaving my Hub-buds, but felt I had no choice. That decision has led me down the road of novel writing, something I never considered previously.

I also stayed in touch with as many hubbies that would have me (lol), and still maintain a Level 7 commentor. (commentator, commentatoror??)

It feels appropriate to post this poem on the Hub today. It's where Vincent and I first made each other's acquaintance.

Meeting Vincent Moore was both an honor and a thrill.

This little ditty was written in commemoration of that meeting...

It's New Year's Eve day, only FIFTY BELOW,

I shovel the car out from three feet of SNOW!

Excited and nervous, just a wee bit UNSURE,

Today is the day I meet bard VINCENT MOORE!

We meet at a Starbucks - It's what writer 'types' DO,

Frappe with whipped cream? Might need to have TWO!

A tall, gentle giant, with a bear hug to MATCH,

Crystal blue eyes, and white whiskers that SCRATCH!

Now, Vincent and I, we 'met' on the 'PAGES',

There to support through life's raptures and RAGES.

With growing regard we praised each the OTHER,

In no time at all, he seemed more a BROTHER!

We writers know much of the other's true HEART,

The hours fly by, so relaxed from the START!

He's funny and smart, unaffected - SINCERE,

My very 'first' poet, to forever hold DEAR!

Then photos are snapped, exchanging our TOMES,

In the blink of an eye, it's time to head HOME!

It was wonderful to meet you, Vincent, my friend!

PLEASE support your fellow Hubber - OR -

Vincent Moore - (POETRY)

This is exciting news! Two of my own personal favorites had the pleasure of meeting in person. Les, you summed up your experience, so delightfully with your little ditty......and what a terrific snapshot of the two of you, happy, talented writers.

I couldn't be more proud of you. I congratulate you both and wish you continued success.

It is a goal of mine to one day, meet up with a hubber or two. There are several who live within a reasonable driving distance from me....and it would be simply awesome to meet face to face and be able to chat over Latte!!! Up ..++++

This was such a great hub and so exciting. I know the feeling as I have met two hubbers. One was Augustine who stepped out of the car and my heart felt a little pitter if he is reading this..he will know. He was such a great guy. I know that feeling of being nervous. I then met Deborah Brooks who was just as sweet as she is on line. She even spent the night at our home. I am so glad you two met and I do hope all of us can have one big hub reunion. You both are such special people. Thank you for sharing this.

Well what a nice surprise to see this hub written of course by one of my dear friends and fellow writers. Meeting Leslie was an adventure, not only did we both weather the -40 c extremely bitter cold morning, the place we were going to lunch at was closed, thankfully there was a Starbucks close by within walking distance. I found out that this beautiful lady likes her latte ultra sweet, just like her.

The conversation was stimulating and we shared a writers corner with a couple of others who chatted about their writings and publications. Leslie and I were absorbed into each others views, comments and advice about our own writings as well. I learned a couple of interesting marketing tips she gave me and will give them a try, Leslie's latest book "Take Me" ended the trilogy, yet hold your breath folks, her novel is about to explode onto the literary scene and it will open the doors even further to the world of Mastered.

I enjoy reading her work, it stimulates me and get's my own juices flowing with inspiration. I look forward to a continual relationship with this fine writer and certainly look forward to reading anything this brilliant, creative writer puts out there. Stand-by for an upcoming tribute to Leslie that I will compose, hopefully by the weekend. Thanks again Leslie and fellow hubbers for reading her little ditty of a poem she calls it, a smile certainly appeared on this poets face.

Hi Leslie, Happy New Year. I haven't spoken to you in ages. It's good to see one of my favorite & talented writers writing novels. I always knew you had it in you. Hubpages was a stepping stone to bigger and better things. I'm really glad that you got to meet another talented poet. I've read some of Vincent Moore's poetry and his poems are deep & meaningful and keeps his readers in awe. You see, my idea of meeting other writers in person wasn't so crazy after all. Lol. After Deborah Brooks and I met, other writers have also met in person. I think Debbie actually met Susan from the hub and a few others. I think that Billybuc's idea of going cross country to meet different writers from various states is a wonderful idea and I do see that happening sometime in the near future since Bill is the type that makes things happen. It would be an honor to meet him. I do hope that you have a book signing event just like Debbie's and that we can finally meet in person my dear friend Leslie. Don't forget about me when you become rich. lol. Love Doc.

Your poem is a wonderful way to remember this meeting. I hope I'll have the privilege of meeting some of my hubber friends in the future. Some were very instrumental in encouraging me to continue writing when I might have given up. Thanks for sharing this, Leslie! Voted up and more!
