Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman

This book changed my life. It revolutionizes the way I interacted with my husband and children. Everyone has a love language. This language when properly expressed makes a man or women feel as though they are loved. In The Five Love Languages author Gary Chapman helps the reader discover his own love language as well as the love language of your spouse and other people you care about. Amazing things can happen when you realize your love language is different than your spouses and work to speak their language.

A friend was studying this book while on vacation when he saw a dress that he thought his wife would like. He never thought to buy her gifts. He bought it and brought it back to his wife. She was thrilled. He bought her a gift and her love language is gifts. We all thought he lucked out; it was a one size fits all, but still it strengthened their marriage.

Love and Respect by Emmerson Eggerich

Men and women are different and communicate differently. Learn how men primarily need respect and women primarily need love. When each spouse communicates effectively a strong marriage emerges.

Many of the principles in this book I learned as a young bride. Despite years of marriage experience I found this book to give a fresh new way look at the needs of husbands and wives.
The needs of men and women aren't wrong just different.

Men Are Like Waffles Women Are Like Spaghetti By Pam and Bill Farrel

One a snowy day, in a Chicago bookstore, this book title caught my eye. There is humor as well as practical advice in this book.

The authors clearly show how men compartmentalize their internal emotions to avoid being overwhelmed, Men actually have times where they literally don’t think about anything,

Women on the other hand never stop thinking and relating. Can you see where the two could wear each other out? The book gives ideas how these two different sexes can work together to make marriages that are satisfying and fulfilling.

Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas

What if the purpose of marriage was not to make you happy? Most people get married because they think their spouse will make them happy and fulfill their needs. Could this be the reason so many marriages fail. Chapman shows how this false assumption leads to avoidable pain,
