A vacation is like love – anticipated with pleasure, experienced with discomfort, and remembered with nostalgia.

The sweet memories

Moments creates us, and like any other aspects of life, it has it’s own flavor. There are sweet memories which uplifts our DNA and elevates our happiness into the next level. Some are sour, others are bitter, but no matter the taste, we should remain thankful because those memories taught us the best lessons of our lives.

I remembered the latest memory I created with the love of my life, the beach and the sunset served only as the toppings over a richly delicious kuchen. Indeed, nature is adorable but, hold on as I am about to tell you the most adorable thing next to nature and it is called love.

The good times

On December 9, 2019, my partner and I went to South-side beach in Toledo City. We both felt excited because it was a product of our impulsive selves. Honestly, we always prefer unplanned trips because we both believe that it could add more spice to our lives. Trust me, I dare you to experience at least one unplanned trip with the best person in your life, and rest assured that your life will never taste the same. Yet, remember to take the necessary precautions before opting to go somewhere.

Going back, at around 4pm, we decided to take the bus to arrive to our targeted destination. We taught that it would be cheap for us and we were absolutely right. Constantly , we remind ourselves to be as clever and focused as possible because we are not familiar with the place. The day was very challenging and fun at the same time. Albeit, we had limited budget, we made sure to not forget that day.

After the bus ride, we were informed by the locals that we had to take the ‘habal-habal ride,’ as they call it. It was amazing and very affordable. Not to mention, the driver was friendly.

It took us a couple of minutes, to arrive at the beach. The wind embraced and whispered to me while I was riding. It said, “good times,” repeatedly. Until finally, the cozy sea breeze welcomed me and shouted, “good times.”

Love is an adorable vacation escapade

Recall when I told you about the most adorable thing on earth?

Here it is; let me start with the toppings. The beach was far more relaxing than I imagined, after weeks of overwhelming stress, finally there I was enjoying the comfort of nature. There were different smiles surrounding the big waves, people from different ages danced with joy. Watching them gave me happiness, then I realized that I am part of their laughter.

Aside from the touching smiles, me and the love of my life came down to taking silhouette photographs. It didn’t just bring out our creativity but, bonding and memory that will last until we reach our endpoint. Slowly, the sun sets along with my fears. Every negativity, doubt, anger, had drowned out.

Then came the night, very cold yet sweet just like a kuchen. We had beer and fun. It was the best time for us to run away from our responsibilities and errands and just be ourselves. Deep conversations flowed through the night along with the sea. My heart flew above the calm waters meeting his heartbeat. Our emotions collide, we let out all the anger, anxiety, depression, and stress. Then, embraced and held on to each other. Lastly, went to bed together, as couples, happy and contented.

We found the most adorable thing on earth and call it love. It was inside us, within our souls, and that made memory created us, letting us taste the sweet side of life.
