Only Love - A Poem About Missing a Loved One

Updated on May 5, 2009
Only Love
Only Love

A distant drum within myself, that beats without repute.

Your voice a whispered symphony that wakes my heart, once mute.

A dream that shall unburden me from wounds dug deep inside.

A face that haunts my memory, two worlds that must collide.

The stars we see in unison, reside to keep repose

Until the dawn of clarity whence all our fears dispose.

I wait for you my own sweet hope,

I wait for you and stay

Beside your soul and present touch

Till only love remains.

I love this kind of poetry. Having just started out on the road of poetry hubs (or hub to be exact) I find these poems a comfort somehow. They tell me I am not the only one to have experienced this in my life. Plus you write really well. Consider me a fan!

Beautiful poem. I needed to read something like this right about now. It really touched my heart.
