Out with the Old and in with the New
Moving on to bigger and better things....
I logged onto my Hubpages account tonight and was surprised that it was 2 years to the date (by 103 minutes) that I started my first Hub. I’ve been told that I need to get back to blogging and I will. I’ve used Hubpages primarily for work and to share what I do as a real estate investor and I’ve gotten away from it. Time to get back into it.
I’ve also used Hub’s to share my adventures, dating life, and personal stories. I’ll ultimately use this one to share what is going on in my life since it’s been since last October since my previous blog.
Life is going pretty well on the outside looking in. I’ve built a budding little defaulted note buying company with my best friend and things are off and running. It’s amazing to see how much we’ve accomplished since late June. www.WeCloseNotes.com is our website and we’ve got a nice group of subscribers who utilize us to find them defaulted notes to buy along with us negotiating their own notes on short sales. We are direct to over 50 banks nationwide. We are closing deals and we are asked to speak on our expertise all the time. It’s exciting to see our little “tree” bear fruit and be something that is “ours” and not something else.
I have to give my business partner most of the credit. Yes, I’ve know the note business and helped others buy and flip notes for a few years now, but I never got serious until around a year ago and then it took a few months to get our first few deals done, but it has been worth the sweat, stress, blood, and tears. Yes, there were times we wanted to give up and kill each other, but I’m glad we were smart enough to stick it out and now we are nationwide experts on what we do.
With the help of her, I’ve become a tremendously focused on just investing in notes instead of being all over the board wholesaling, flipping short sales, rehabbing, amongst other things. I’m not coaching anymore for the most part so this has allowed me to spend a lot of time working on building a business we can both be proud of. We are both still all over the place, but we are much more focused then what we were a year ago.
Anyway, we’ve bought notes on residential and commercial properties from Cali to Florida and in between. Banks actually call us for us to sell their notes and we’ve got a great buyers list and we’ve got a couple tremendous deals that we are working now that will be life changing for us with the commission we earn on these deals. I don’t want to jinx us so I will leave the details blank until we close them.
Anyway, I’ve also got rid of a lot of dead weight on a couple deals that were draining me emotionally and financially. So I’m currently renting a room in a house with a couple roommates looking for my next deal of a house. She’s looking for one as well to upgrade or increase the size of her house to accommodate the growing ruckus in her house that accompanies two teenage kids.
My goal is to find something that she likes, help her get into it and then look to move to California and spend some time on the beach for an extended period of time to relax, reset, and find myself outside of my workaholic life style. If that comes in a month or a year, we will see and time will tell. It will all come in time and on someone else’s timeline. Hopefully we can find a sub to or a note deal on a property that makes sense for us to take down and be the best of both worlds.
Cali is calling my name and it seems to be calling me harder these days with my personal life. Getting rid of the garbage has been nice, but I don’t think I will ever find someone as long as I stay in town. It’s just a gut feeling that I have and time will answer that question.
