Petticoats, Slips and Chemises For Men

Updated on November 13, 2010

I usually write about traditional lingerie for men, but the truth of the matter is that there is a whole wide world of lingerie out there, like petticoats.

I have discovered through extensive research that what Americans refer to as petticoats and what British people refer to as petticoats are two different things. To avoid confusion (or perhaps, encourage it) I will be referring to petticoats, as in those frilly skirt creations which can be layered beneath dresses for extra lift. Slips, as in extended camisoles which cover the body from shoulders to thighs, shoulders to knees, or shoulders to toes, and chemises which typically end somewhere under the buttocks.

Petticoats

Pretty, frilly, lacy petticoats are a delight to behold. At one time they were an essential part of every repressed woman's wardrobe. (If you think a burka is bad, try stuffing your waist into a corset then layering the lower half of your body in so many sheets of lace that it's difficult to find your own legs.)

Fortunately in today's modern world we no longer beat women for failing to wear several petticoats whilst out and about and they've become a fun and pretty immodest way to look hot in lingerie. From traditional petticoats which flare on the floor, to super short petticoats designed to hide under miniskirts, there's a petticoat for every man who loves to wear lingerie. Just think of the yards of lace flowing about your legs.

Slips

Slips are the perfect lingerie for men. Why? They provide a great deal of coverage of the smooth and silky kind. They also look and feel a lot like a dress, which some men who wear lingerie will particularly enjoy.

Chemises

If you want to experience the lingerie thrill of a slip but don't want to be seen to be wearing a 'dress' then a chemise walks that naughty line between camisole and full blown slip. Dip your toe into deeper lingerie waters by slipping into one of these babies and I can't guarantee you'll be able to restrain yourself from going all the way to a full slip. Don't say that you weren't warned, that's all I can say.

So, there you have it chaps, a whole new avenue of lingerie has opened up to you. Sure it may be a little more feminine than the lingerie you're used to (how ironic was that statement), but you may find that the thrill of forbidden lingerie is even stronger when you experience it in a petticoat, slip or chemise.

Well, I wear a nylon full slip or half slip everyday under my man clothes.

"a slip shouts out femininity and it certainly makes me feel very feminine when I wear a slip. The fabric also adds to the sensuality and is mostly some form of silky soft nylon or satin, which again is very femme and very arousing to the touch."

This is why I wear a slip everyday under my male clothes. The reminder of what i am wearing, feeling the body of the slip move around my body and tickles my thighs and I love the materials of my panties and slip as they slide across each other. Nothing feels as wonderful as this.

I will go driving at night wearing a full slip, panties and thigh highs only for the thrill of it and love every second.

I love slips and especially petticoats. Being a teen in the 50s with older sisters gave me many petticoats to wear along with slips. They also let me enjoy their dresses and skirts with wide skirts to wear my petticoats with. My mother was full supportive of me being her daughter. I am fully open with my family and friends and dress as a lady most of the time. When I go out I study the situation and deside if I want to be a lady or not. I love to wear bra to have a nice figure. I make my own from pillow foam to fill a C cup or a B cup. I weigh 132 pounds and can fit in a size eight dress. It is truly wonderful dress as a lady enjoying the fanstatic feel of satins, silks and other soft feminine clothing. Enjoy your slips and Petticoats. Jerry

Petticoats with their abundance of lace and colors have always been my favorite lingerie, however their sheer fullness has always made it difficult to wear under my male clothes. Hence I have had to wear petticoats only at home. A classmate in elementary school introduced me to her petticoats and panties. I could not believe how wonderfully soft and feminine these items felt against my body. I have had to resort to wearing short lacy slips and panties under my male clothes. I even found a short slip with attached panty, I believe it is called a "hipslip" which is wonderful. I love the pic of the petticoat.

When I lived in California I was close to "Versatile Fashions" in Anahiem and they carried corsettes, petticoats, pettipants, high heels and custom made maids uniforms all in mens sizing, you could go in the store and have a girl help fit you for them all. My first corsette was pulled tight by the girl running the store at the time.

She put a be right back sign in the door and locked up and took me in the back fitting room and helped me get the right size and pulled the laces up tight. It was a bonerific good time. I wore it home.

You might google the store name and get some fun things from them. I left California with a big wardrobe from them.

The Betsey Johnson store on my bus ride to and from work has had an outfit with a petticoat like the one in your picture in their window for the last couple of weeks. Are fluffy petticoats making a comeback?

I could only dream of owning a garmet like that.

I am a long time lover of full slips and petticoats. Having come of age in the 50's, I got to have some very lovely slips and petticoats. At that time the sears catalog was delightful. It is such a shame that slips and petticoats are no longer the norm. But I still have many.

"Many a slip twixt the cup and the lip"

Very entertaining as always. You make me smile.

I've never been fortunate enough to experience a frilly petticoat but have a number of cami's and slips.

Some guys wear singlets or t shirts as under garments. I wear either lace or smooth stretch cami tops and as for Slips..

Oh, i LOVE my slips. I wear them as aftwer work wear when it's warm. With pantyhose and a long sleeve top when it's cool. They are great to sleep in as well.
