Pre-Marital Sex with a woman is Hopping through a Mine Field riding a Jackhammer

Updated on March 29, 2012

Lets try to live

In the delusion, for a minute that avoiding sex until after marriage has nothing to do with morality. Let us see if we can find a valid beneficial reason why one should unzip one's fly or remove one's skirt every time body lust sets in.

Hmmm.....The only reason the ancients could think up was idol worship of some kind or other where their gods mandated it but no one has reared a temple to IO or Aphrodite in a couple millennia so that won't fly. Kings used to do it so they would know whether the woman they married could bare heirs and if the woman could then they were immediately married.

Some Kings felt rather godly and thought that every woman they desired was theirs for the taking but even they knew better then to let women out of their power after deflowering them or having their way. Usually the woman became a concubine and was well pampered and taken care of.

On the other hand, every time Zeus went off on a tryst, the effects were disastrous. Athens and Sparta wouldn't have lost so many of their sons if a few people would have been faithful. Napoleon lost his Empire over his betrayal of his wife. Clinton had quietly disappeared from public life for a while and one time ended up on camera with his paints sewn shut.

Any beneficial side affects from promiscuity coming to you? Nope? Me neither. in fact a good majority of our current social problems can be traced back to infidelity. A good majority of the cases where someone is unfaithful someone else didn't wait for marriage.

When I was in high school, our district had a special school set up for those who dealt with the societal burden of sex partaken of too soon. School is hard enough without all of the problems that brings. In my senior year we started with a class of almost 200 but by graduation we were down to around 60 students.

Do I believe that my opinion on this issue should be the final word? Heaven forbid. Each person must solve this issue for themselves but it aught to be observed that unless you actually marry the person you have sex with -before or afterward- then there is a chance that she or he has had sex before and will yet have sex with someone else after you. The chances of obtaining little extra gifts that keep on giving rise with such decisions as well.

When It is all said and done all I can suggest is that one is wise and does what will benefit oneself and those one loves, including the one that shares your bed. If you truly love them you will consider their future as much as their present.

As a devoted Christian, I am against pre-marital sex, although I know it goes on. When I was a teenager and first became curious about the opposite sex, as all teens do, I had the occasion to chat about it with a friend, you know how boys talk. He explained his theory to me.

He asked me two questions. "Would you buy a pair of shoes without first trying them on to see if they fit and were comfortable? Would I buy a car, without taking it for a test drive?

I answer him "No I wouldn't, but a girl is not a pair of shoes, nor a car. If I want a girl to like me, I also want her to have respect for me, and she can't respect me if she thinks I see her as a commodity or a conquest."

I went on to tell him that, " Although I may be aroused over some girl, God expects me to think with the head on my shoulders, not the one between my thighs, and that I believed that any girl would appreciate this more too."

      Brother Dave.
