Prey to Beasts

Some people become broken and fall prey to beasts waiting to eat them up. The "beasts" are people who rape, who manipulate, who abuse, who neglect, who cheat, who betray in any form. The ones who take pleasure in hurting. Many people usually dated one of these at least once in their teens or twenties before they became wise to seeing the signs of these types of people.

You think you're so smooth

With your charming ways

Slick in your talk

And you're eyes set on prey

You pretend to be sweet

So women will look

But on the inside you

Are hateful and stomp hearts

You took

You lure with money

Dinner and diamonds

A drink here and there

Waiting like a wolf

Teeth ready to bare

After you tease and tell

Them lies

Loving to manipulate

Waiting for them to cry

Enjoying your game

Hunting the innocent

Maidens you capture

Your adrenaline burns fierce

When you feel that you are near

To beat and kill

That you latch on you hold

You leave and throw away

Whatever is left

You took another soul

For that you kept

And never gave back

You must feel satisfied

Never taking a step back

Stessily thank you! Yes, it could be a man or woman. Thanks for reading and your great compliments as always!

carolinemd21, Compellingly presented and depicted! I see this poem as a rapacious male from a female perspective but it is easily applicable to a female vulture. And the context is open-ended for your description applies to this personality in any setting, work, home, play, etc.

      Chillingly accurate!

Alexander thank you for stopping by and commenting. "people who talk to fill the silences in life, without understanding their position in a relationship" what a great analyzation. Thank you!

Very good hub. It reminds me of people who talk to fill the silences in life, without understanding their position in a relationship. This speaks volumes about dysfunctionary relationships.

Yep, I have come across these white collared sociopaths many times in my life. Great poem depicting the evil of these types.

      Hi Caroline.

Your prologue is very true with humans being the worst beast of all.

Being a man and taking your poem as a womans point of view i think your poem super.

Can't wait for the same twist with a man's thinking writen by a woman. Very interesting thought Caroline.

      Take care Caroline.

      LOL Ghaelach

Makusr I didn't mean specifically men. Both men and women can be bad. I'm not bitter just writing of all experiences. Thanks for reading and sharing.

carolinemed21, Humans are good or bad and not women or men. You seem to be bitter. We all are. It's nice that you have given vent to your feelings. Take care.

      With warm wishes,

      MAKUSR

Hi Perspycacious - thanks for the edit. Actually yes there are women like this out there. I was just writing from a female point of view on the bad guys out there. LOL. I've also had some bad women friends too. I'll write a poem in the future about the bad girls. :)

      "bear" = ? bare

Could there be women like this, too, or is it only guys? The poem implies just guys. You've talked with gals, I'm sure, who were equally rapacious. Well haven't you?

Very provocative and creepy. In a good way. It just reminds me of someone lurking or stalking...makes you think about the people around you and what they are doing. Thanks for sharing.
