Curious Questions We Get Asked
Here are some of the many questions you might get asked by a curious individual:
·What is it like?
·Does it hurt?
·Do you fancy me?
·How do you become gay?
·How long did it take you to come out?
·Do you have a partner?
·Did you always know you were gay?
·How did your family take the news?
·What is the difference between you and me?
·What is gay?
·Is their a big gay community here?
·My friend is gay do you know him/her?
·Do you wear perfume or after-shave?
·Which toilet do you use?
·I think my son/daughter is gay what can I do?
And there are hundreds more questions like these, I have been asked all of these and lots more, but it does not bother me as I don’t mind, and find some of them hilarious especially when the people who ask them are so serious. But I’m not laughing at them I’m laughing with them because when you explain to them the answer they find it amusing also when they realize what they have just asked. I have always told the truth and never hid anything this is because I am a bad liar so I always give them the truth and an honest answer them when ask me their questions, I’m not offended either because in helping them in finding the truth I’m helping myself understand my identity. So please don’t be offended if they ask you because they must think that you are the only gay person nice enough to tell them what they need to know, however if the questions are just nasty and bigoted then don’t feel compelled to answer and walk away from the situation that is just some bigot trying to be funny with you and not a genuine person seeking truth and understanding.
