Relationships and Marriages

The journey through this life is full of many obstacles and trials. Relationships in my opinion is a trial that we have to be a part of to determine whether to proceed to the next step, which is marriage. Relationships are the foundation of marriage which if built strong will weather any storm and last a lifetime. Of course every relationship has its hills and valleys. To succeed in both of these moments one must be able to compromise and be sensitized to the other partner's emotions.

How can the relationship or marriage succeed unless both agree? I recall the days when I was deeply in love with a lady or so I thought. We had some good times and then eventually it all went cold. During our relationship we had two kids and was engaged for two years. I guess you are asking yourself why so long. It was my belief that I wanted a family and she did not. And also that I loved her more than she loved me. Thank God I decided to break of the relationship after finding out for the third time that she cheated on me. My heart encouraged me to stay but mind was in denial and assured me that this was the right thing to do. My relationship at the time was filled with the belief that she loved me just as much as I loved her. I was fighting for something that I never had. The relationship was filled with promiscuity, which in no doubt had a terrible conclusion.

A successful relationship is based on communication, true love and integrity. Imagine that you and your significant other are looking for ways to improve your relationship. This would make the relationship less complicated and more exciting. The best way to handle a conflict is to adjust your attitude towards a situation. Yes tempers might be raging and some horrible thoughts might come to mind but someone has to compromise. The world has many attractive people that might be more attractive than your spouse or significant other but resist the temptation. If the situation arises try thinking about the good times you had and whether it is worth throwing that away and starting all over again.

It is when the relationship or marriage is at its worst that individuals do ignorant things and then regret it afterwards. Before you get into a relationship or marriage you should ask yourself, " Do I really want this relationship or marriage to work. And do I want to endure all the hardship and pain that comes with it?" Every relationship is like a roller coaster, it has its hills and valleys. No relationship or marriage is perfect and must be refined like a diamond to see the true value of it.

Show some love and remember that compromising is the key to any successful relationship or marriage.
