Romantic Places to Propose Marriage

Updated on December 12, 2011

Finding the right place to propose can be stressful. Here are a few ideas to get your creativity flowing! It would be a good idea on most of these locations to visit it first by yourself to be sure that it is an appropriate setting, and will give you a chance to talk to management if needed to set up the proposal in advance.

Rehearse what you want to say, even though you may not remember all the words, you will be less nervous if you have practiced!

Anytime of the year:

Local Winery - Most areas have local a winery and some even have small restaurants in them and all have wine tasting events regularly.

In Spring / Summer:

A local public garden or beautifully landscaped park. Be sure that neither of you have bad allergies that may crop up while there and cause allergic reactions! And be sure to choose an area that is not populated with lots of garden bugs or bees. Find her favorite flower and walk there to make your proposal.

If you are both animal lovers how about at the zoo? Don't stop in front of the camels or lama's tho, they spit!

Do you live near a famous landmark? Like perhaps Mt. Rushmore, Coney Island, Great Smokey Mountains? Etc...

In winter:

A local outdoor ice skating rink perhaps at the holiday time when it will be decorated.

A Ski resort where they may have a lodge with a fireplace or cozy restaurant / lounge that has great admosphere. Or perhaps at the top of the mountain just before sunset.

In Fall/Autumn:

Take a drive to see the awesome fall foliage. Find a roadside park or mountain overlook to stop at to have your romantic proposal.

Take some time to explore the website for your state's visitors and see what local attractions there are that can spark your ideas!
