Slip Away : A heart breaking poem

If time would show me grace

I’d lend you my praise

Show you a better place

But it’s not the same any more

Never been the same ever since you walked away

I try living over it

I try...I cry and I fail to fly

I can never stop these burning tears

Over the crowd I see your face

On the walls..In my dreams

I reach out

But only to touch your shadow

I hold you near in my dreams

Singing you your angel lullaby

All I know is you near

Close enough to kiss away your tears

But it’s all shadows in the dark

It was only yesterday

That all I had was you

I had you in my arms

Kissing your tender lips under the blossoms

Feeling your warm breath on my chest

Tenderness that I cherish in blurry vision

It hurts so much to sing our song

To dance our tune

You so close in my heart

If I can touch you once more

Look into your eyes

And whisper into your ears

That I love you

Never letting you go for a minute

But you are gone

Slipped away breaking my heart

I am weak and bleak

But I can’t break your spell on me

You all that’s burning in my heart

The only distant star in a dark sky

I am weary

Enjoy this love poem

And my insanity is hanging on a thread

With my vanity hiding in shame

Now my world seems so cold

All I have known

Was it was me and you

Ours a world to cherish

Now it’s over

And I nurse the burning tears

If I could

I would

But it’s a sad good bye

It’s only a faded memory

Million words fail

And I walk away frail

A prisoner to your love

Maybe time will help me win this game

And flee from this blame

For I let you slip away

Wow!! Ian, reminds me so much of the times when I lost what I thought 'I knew it all and thought I had it all". In other words reminds me of Lost Love..... which I know we all have experienced in some point of our lives. Cool Ian, very cool :-)

Experiences of heartache and pain can be bitter but it helps make a person become better. What doesn't belong with you slip away maybe it just happened as it supposed to be. I guess we all experienced a lost love once in our lifetime. A great poem Ian, it helps a lot to appreciate and cherish the love I have now. Thank you.

A moving poem indeed. When you lose a love you thought its all you ever needed its very painful even you will regret if you will turn back time and right your wrongs. But now its too late ..that kind of love will never be erassed in our hearts.

the hurt takes hold of you and some how destroys your happiness.it freezes time and you getting out of it is slow and dragging.your poem highlights all aspects of a broken heart.healing comes but its slow and sure.it only brings back memories.i like it somehow.
