Super Models - Pam Warren

Updated on September 21, 2010

Pam Warren

Pam Warren – A woman of Courage

On Oct 5 1999, a terrible train crash took place just outside Paddington station London. Hundreds were Injured and 31 died. This happened when 2 trains collided because one of the drivers did not stop at a red signal.

Pamela Warren was travelling on that train, that fateful day in Oct 99; Her face and hands were badly burnt because a fireball engulfed the carriage she was in . She spent 3 months in hospital and after under going 22 operations, had to wear a face mask for 18 months, to allow her skin to heal.

The Mask

On Oct 5 2009 – 10 years to the day of the accident. Pam got on a train for the first time since then and faced her fears. I watched the documentary on TV (broadcast 7 October) and she was nervous. She told the reporter, she could hear and see everything that was happening on the train 10 years ago - The grinding and violent grating sound as the carriage was being crumpled, the sound of men and women screaming around her; the white heat of a fireball, the sound of her hair crackling as the flames swept over her - but she still managed to sit on the train and this time arrived at Paddington station safely.

The Train Wreck, Padddington 1999

Karen, once a successful pensions adviser with her own business, had to sell her business due to the horrific injuries she sustained. A few years after the crash, she also went through a painful divorce, but today she is a Woman of Courage.

I admire your strength and Courage Karen and hope you find happiness and fulfilment in the future again. You are and will continue to be an inspiration to many.

The lady definitely fought through a lot. That crash is similar to the crash with had on the Washington, DC Metro train system a few months ago. It was terrible. It definitely took a lot of courage to get back on that train.

God is wonderful. He is a merciful God. He showers rain and sun on both the good and bad. He knows why Pam Barren is alive. It is indeed an opportunity for her to spread the gospel and tell people the goodness of God. She should not forget that her being alive is not based on her righteousness but my God's special grace. It is a nice and inspirational hub. Thanks for sharing.
