This wedding, which was performed in 1981, was personally witnessed by 3,500 people. Around 750 million people watched it on television. The bride's wedding gown was covered in 10,000 pearls an had a 25-foot train.

The cost of the wedding was $110 million. Unfortunately the royal couple divorced in 1996, one year before Diana died in a car crash along with her lover Dodi Fayed.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta were paid $2.5 million ant $800,000 respectively to perform on the occasion. The cost of hiring the castle was $512,000. The bride wore a $1.3 million Vera Wang dress. Guests were treated to $6,000 a bottle champagne, an acrobatic display and $165,000 worth of fireworks. Today this wedding has irretrievably broken down.

Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto

Basketball legend Michael Jordan married former model Yvette Prieto on April 27 2013 at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Palm Beach, Florida. Around 300 guests attended the grand event. They were entertained by Robin Thicke and Usher.

The couple chose a seven-layer, crystal encrusted rum wedding cake. Yvette's designer dress was made with handmade silk lace created especially for her. The cost of the wedding was $10 million. Yvette gave birth to identical twin daughters, Victoria and Ysabel, in 2014.

Coleen and Wayne Rooney

The couple's friends and family members were flown to Italy and were treated to four days of celebrations. There was a party on a $120 million yacht. The bride's dress cost $300,000. Westlife, Coleen's favorite band, was paid $660,000 to perform on the special occasion. The total cost of the wedding was about $7.7 million.

American actress and singer Liza May Minnelli married famous American concert promoter and media personality David Alan Gest in the US. The wedding was held in New York City's Marble Collegiate Church in the year 2002. This wedding cost a whopping $3.5 million dollars. Michael Jackson was the Best Man and Elizabeth Taylor was the Maid of Honor. A 12-tier wedding cake was offered to the guests. Unfortunately, the couple divorced the next year.

      Thanks for these eye-opening facts. The weddings sure cost a lot, but the people who do them have the money to spend, so it's not a big deal to them. Obviously, the vows are not a big deal either. What a pity!
