Our Love Story
The Story Of Us
We met in college. She was a beautiful sorority girl and I was a fraternity guy. She actually dated one of my brothers months before we began seeing each other. We were friends that had started spending a lot of time together. One night, yes after some drunken debauchery, we kissed.
Now where we went to college drunken moments of intimacy were commonplace. But this was different. It may sound corny, but I knew it was different because she was special. Not only was she beautiful but she was smart and kind as well. Moreover, she challenged me, which is something I have always liked.
Why Me? I Have Baggage?
Not to toot my own horn, but my wife is beautiful. She is tall, slender and perfectly built. What in the world is she doing with me? Could it be my lack of hair, my gut or is it my over sized eye? Even back ten years ago when I was young I was already balding and fattening. Maybe it was the cheap wine. Nothing says class like a box of wine.
Not only that, I came with baggage. Shortly after we began dating, my mother passed away. I had to drop out of college. Of course days before this, this beautiful girl told me she was pregnant. So right off the bat, we were going to have a baby and deal with the loss of a parent at the same time. Isn't this the way all great romances begin?
Stories of Love
Twelve Years Later
Nobody gave us a chance. Statistics say that relationships that begin under stress are more likely to fall apart within a year than make it. We have beaten the odds. Why?
Because I got lucky. Not only is she beautiful, she is understanding and kind. We have had many ups and downs in our lives, but we have faced them together. Our story is a story of love and hope. As we travel down the road of life, I know we will we do it together and she will always support me and I will support her.
I wrote this little blurb for one reason, the mood struck me to tell the world (or the few that will read this) how much she means to me and how much I appreciate that this beautiful girl drank too much boxed wine a long time ago and for some reason decided to stay with me. I write this because I am a lucky guy.
