Thoughts Of Love - Aphrodisiacs

Updated on March 27, 2013

Here is some food for thought on foods for love.

We have searched the globe for thousands of years to find the perfect foods to enhance our drive and make us irresistible to the the opposite gender.

Eat Oysters Love Longer

The oyster has a long history as being the food of love since Aphrodite, The Goddess of Love emerged from the water on a giant oyster.

The famous lover Casanova was said to eat dozens of oysters each day.

What magic is this that the oyster possesses?

Health; Oysters contain minerals such as zinc, calcium copper and iodine.

It's really all about vitamin deficiencies, if your body is lacking certain vitamins and minerals it isn't operating on all cylinders and can throw off your game.

So we really need to get down to the basics, a balanced diet and a whole food multivitamin

Love Vitamins

Vitamin D

Low vitamin D can leave you depressed and moody. Cupids arrow will steer clear of you for sure.

Foods containing vitamin D:

Shitake and button mushrooms (make sure the vitamin D in the mushrooms come from natural sunlight and not artificial means) Mackeral, Herring, sardines, catfish, tuna, cod liver oil, eggs, sunshine at the appropriate time of year and time of day for more on this seem my post.

Luscious Chocolate

Dark organic chocolate, better yet, raw organic cacoa is a strong aphrodisiac. Rich in magnesium, phosphorous, antioxidants, arginines and methylxanthines; all good for your libido. Cacoa also contains phenylethylamine which causes dopamine to be released and active your pleasure center of your brain.

Deer Antler

If you want to get really horny (I couldn't resist)

Chinese and other Asian countries believe Deer Antler (the velvet which regenerates and does not hurt the animal) is more potent than the centuries old aphrodisiac ginseng and Russian researches claim it's the most effect remedy there is for decreased libido.

Deer Antler is taken by athletes to improve their athletic performance so why not their performance in the bedroom.

Why Deer Velvet?

The velvet is harvested when the deer are preparing to mate and testosterone in the highest.

Both men and women need healthy amounts of testosterone for a strong libido, which Deer Antler provides. Added bonuses are minerals, nutrients and vitamins in the velvet which gives you the energy of a young buck and lowers blood pressure.

Deer Antler has: calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, collagen, amino acids, anti-inflammatory properties, t androgens and estrogens.

According to experts, Shailajit is a very potent aphrodisiac, increases your stamina, boosts your energy, mental clarity and focus, relieves annoying aches and pains, increases strength and turbo charges your immune system.

Shalilajit's sanskrit meaning is "conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness."

What is Shalilajit?

If you want to get technical about it, it's dirt! Not any dirt, special dirt found in the Himalayas. It's a thick rich paste which oozes from rocks.

Sound appetizing?

Before you decide eating dirt isn't for you, consider this.

Shaliajit a natural source of all the minerals needed by the body; is claimed to be a superfood. Shaljit contains over 85 minerals

and is considered one of the most important medicines in Ayurvedic medicine.

Fulvic Acid and Humic acid have many beneficial minerals which only exists in rich soils and plants that have not been degraded by chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers. It is hard to come by these beneficial minerals in our soil now that modern farming has taken over.

Fulvic Acid has the ability to cleanse your body of toxic metals stored in the human body by bonding to positively charged harmful metal ions and is released through urine and feces.

Red wine over dinner, or perhaps some red wine with cheese. Just make sure that it's red wine.

Red wine has and antioxidant calledpolyphenols, which i a type of antioxidant which enhances arousal by widening blood vessels and increases blood flow to points of arousal on the body.

Health and fitness will give you much more than bulging muscles. How about increasing your stamina and endurance also helps with flexibility.

Exercise gets your heart thumping and your blood pumping to all parts of your body, if you know what I mean :o)

Exercise also releases endorphins which make you happy and reduces libido killer number one; stress.

Adrenaline Burst

You already possess a powerful aphrodisiac within you and you don't have to go to the store to purchase it. What is it? Adrenaline the extremely powerful hormone produced by the adrenal gland.

Adrenaline speeds up your heart rate, contracts blood vessels, opens up air passages which increases oxygen into the lungs. This in turn increases your physical performance for a short burst of time. This is what we mean by "fight or flight" adrenaline is released to help us cope with dangerous unexpected situations.

An adrenaline rush mimics arousal, your heart rate speeds up and your nervous system goes wild; It puts you in state and ready for action.

How do you access Adrenaline?

Here are some examples of having a danger-less adrenaline rush: you can escape from the monotony of every day routines and watch a scary movie, try zip lining, roller-coasters, skiing, ice skating, surfing, sledding, go dancing or go to a haunted house.

A win, win situation is to confront your fears, are you afraid of heights, flying? Take them on and conquer them. You not only get an adrenaline rush but you accomplish something, feel good about yourself and get turned on to boot.

I hope this post has inspired feelings of love, and have stirred up your desire ability for passion and health. Have fun!
