24 Hours - Life Can Change

Sunny today? May not be sunny tomorrow

I've often said, "What a difference a day makes."

How true. In a 24 hour period, things can turn around, end, begin, disappoint, excite, anger and confuse. These are just a few of the millions of emotions, realities and things that can change any given day.

One such recent experiences, was the thrill of learning that a dearly loved, treasured grandchild is healthy and will not require the anticipated surgery. In this case, wow, what a difference 24 hours can make. A wonderful difference!

Death of a family member. Now that's a tough one. Can be unexpected or expected. One twenty-four hour day when experiencing this can seem more like twenty-four days instead of hours. The moments seem to either stand still or drag on and on. We all must go through the process of grief, some more than others.

The birth of a new addition to the family. What a joyous time! Exuberance, tears of joy, love, happiness. Welcoming a new baby to the family is an extremely emotional time. What a difference 24 hours can make.

A birthday. Young ones can't wait. Older ones want to forget and let them pass by unnoticed. What a difference a day makes.

A relocation or move. Can be from one side of the country to the other, one city to the next, or one continent to a new one. Saying goodbye to what you knew and being apprehensive about what lies ahead. What a difference a day makes.

A marriage. One day single, next thing you know you are standing at an altar swearing undying devotion to one another. What a difference a day makes.

Whatever this 24 hour period brings your way, remember this. Another day will come and pass. Circumstances will change. What a difference a day makes.

I can truly attest to this - one day my husband is working full time and things are going well at work the next he is being told they are letting him go - what a difference a day makes indeed! Thank goodness though that the Lord is truly in control of all of our days and we can look to Him no matter what the day brings!
