Top 3 Fun Wedding Trends

Updated on June 16, 2012

1. Photo Booths

I can't think of a better way to capture photos of your friends and family on your special day. Not only do they make for an awesome photo album, but it provides a fun activity during the reception while the bride and groom take their wedding photos.

With this becoming a big trend, a lot of wedding photographers even have their own backdrops and props for you to use, but if not, consider making your own! You can simply hang a large panel of fabric to work as your backdrop, and provide inexpensive props such as hats, over sized sunglasses, homemade mustaches, etc.

2. Mad Libs

Don't you remember doing these as a kid? They're a laugh-out-loud idea for your wedding reception, too! It's simply fill-in-the-blank marriage advice for the bride and groom. Have your guests fill them out and leave them with you to read later and even use in your guestbook.

You can purchase a custom color PDF template online and have them printed at your local print shop. A cheap yet unforgettable memento of your wedding day!

3. Gourmet Jell-O Shots

These fancy Jell-O shots are even worthy of the most sophisticated bride's wedding. They are a unique addition to your cocktail selection. You might even consider these for the bridal shower, bachelorette party, or bridesmaid luncheon.

I love the idea of incorporating fun props for the guests to use in a photo booth. Great suggestion!

Do you have an idea of how much those photo booths cost to rent? I think that one and the jello shots are great ideas for big parties too. The jello shots are really classy looking and little mess to eat, a nice finger food.

Anything engaging like the mad libs and people sitting at the reception tables are more likely to enjoy themselves, laugh while getting to know more about the couple. Very cute 3 trends!
