Top 5 Commitment Ceremony Chapels in Las Vegas
What is a commitment ceremony?
A commitment ceremony is much like a marriage. A couple dedicates an intimate part of their life with each other. It is unlike a wedding in that there's no legal, but there's all the love! Since same-sex marriage became legal in some states, commitment ceremonies have lost quite a bit of appeal in Las Vegas. Why get a commitment ceremony when you could get married?
Well, for one, it's a lot of fun! Plus, the main point of a commitment ceremony is to show your commitment to another person, and the ceremonies should do just that. If your hetero friends are getting married in Las Vegas and you and your partner feel left out, why not have a ceremony for yourselves! I'm not a lawyer, and definitely not adept at law, but having a commitment ceremony may help to take a step toward proving a domestic partnership. Ask the inquiring agency though! Whatever your reason, please consider these excellent venues.
Paris Las Vegas Weddings
The Paris Hotel & Casino is a very strong supporter of LGBT rights in Las Vegas. When/if Nevada legalizes gay marriage, I'd bet the Paris would be the first wedding chapel to open its doors to that first couple. The Paris has a number of floors and rooms where ceremonies can be held. A main attraction is the replica of the Eiffel Tower, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the strip from a bird's eye view...if that bird was roosting on the top of the Eiffel Tower. A wedding at the Paris is sure to be a magical and romantic experience.
Mon Bel Ami
I've written about the excellence of Mon Bel Ami before. I don't feel this list would be complete without including Mon Bel Ami and its special wedding package for commitment ceremonies. The "At Last" wedding package features:
- Wedding Music on Symphonic Sound System by Bose
- Twelve Rose, Hand Tied Bouquet (or flowers to fit the occasion)
- Matching Boutonniere (or flowers to fit the occasion)
- Three Taper Unity Candle Ceremony
- First Dance
- Rose Color Aisle Runner
- Candelabras Lit Down the Aisle
- Twenty Ceremony Photographs
- Three Camera DVD of Ceremony
- Commitment Broadcast on the Internet for 30 days
- Limousine Transportation Available
All customizable to your tastes and desires.
Okay, so the quality of the video is bad, and they don't have the best fashion sense, but it's the thought that counts!
Viva Las Vegas Weddings
Viva Las Vegas Weddings is the only chapel owned by a gay couple in Las Vegas. They offer one of the most variable experiences available, from Elvis weddings to fully traditional ceremonies. Simply check their list to find one that sounds interesting, then you can call to set your reservation and further personalize your Las Vegas commitment ceremony. Viva Las Vegas Weddings understands how meaningful ceremonies are even if same-sex marriage isn't legalized in Nevada; they try that much more to make your night amazing.
Wedding Salons at the Wynn
With Wedding Salons at the Wynn, you will have an exclusive wedding consultant to plan every minute of your ceremony so that the two of you can focus on fun and love. Aside from offering incredibly luxurious commitment ceremonies, Wedding Salons wedding planners also have their finger on the pulse of Las Vegas LGBT night life. The Encore was created by the Wynn to specifically cater to the LGBT community. They can plan out an entire night for you following your ceremony, or just let you know some of the best hot spots to spend your entire trip at. As they do plan quite a bit of your ceremony, this may not be the venue for you if you want to have the main coordinating control over your commitment ceremony.
The Mandalay Bay is another casino venue that offers a ceremony as far as your money will take you and then a little farther for the quality of customer service. The minimum wedding package still feels quite lavish, and you can quickly enjoy your post ceremony time with an eventfully planned night on the strip. Packages can include:
- Dressing Rooms for Partners and Wedding Party
- Couples Choice of Two Petite Bouquets or Two Boutonnières
- Champagne Toast During the Ceremony with Couple and Guest
- 30 Minutes of Photography
- 12 4"x6" Photographs in a Wedding Album
- DVD Recording of Ceremony in Custom Case
- Honeymoon Suite (600 SS) for One Night
- Limo Strip Tour for Six
- THEwedding Chapel Champagne Flutes
- Pianist's fee
- Minister's fee
