What does it take to pick up the phone and call ?

Updated on February 7, 2010

SIMPLE TASK LEFT UNDONE

This day and age when technology has blossomed as beautiful as a women's breast.

A phone can be found within any arms reach with the explosion of the cell phones

People scatter like marbles thrown across the floor

Does this sound so familiar...Who me?

I am off to work, I'm tired, and I am off to sleep

I have other things to do.....I will call you later

A ring, a wonderful ring that could make the deaf hear

Why don't people call the ones they love?

When did we forget to share the love we once had desparately needed ?

They have always given us in the past and continue to help us so we can become who we are today

Never asking once why ?

One little call could make them so very happy

We are so consumed in our own journeys in life not realizing how magnificent and wonderful our voice is

To them we must be some sort of new adventure or journey

We can't see because our eyes are closed shut and our minds are fogged by the misconseptions of our lost needs

A quick hello and a simple how are you would do

We have heard and know their answers only to clear repeated to us so many times before

I'm no trouble !

I'm no bother !

I'll be here !

I am here all the time !

You're busy and I understand

You forgot, don't worry...the hours pass by

Hope you are never in the position I am in waiting for the phone to ring !

A very interesting hub, I followed poetlorraine here to see if you were really her son, I am glad that I did. I don't particularly like mobile phones, they seem to go off at some very inappropriate moments and other people’s calls can be very irritating and intrusive.

I do have skpe and I love that it is like talking to someone in the same room and it is free plus I can see the person talking to me which makes it so much better.

I agree with you sometimes just a quick hello phone call would make all the difference to a day.

I have not seen you except in pictures.I would never of got to know you a little bit if it wasn't for the hub pages. We would of never met.I could not of written some nice poems for you to read or care.I could not of seen your hubs and the work you have done.I would of not understood how someone could write sad stories and not be really sad.Sure it seems like a dove and a cat could ever be freinds. But I believe in miracles and how does a 80 pound elderly woman pick up a 5,000 pound car off a little child. She saved the childs life.It was in the news. Many times about physically impossible things done out of love. That is my life a life of .So when I die.I will die with one big happy grin and I want my last words to be I died HAPPY!

I work with young adults about 17 to 25 years old. They want to be somewhere else and complain about nothing. Then when it is slow they want to leave early. They are the future of the world.I love it here there are so many possibilities and so much spirit and optismism.

I would like to thank you for your imput.I don't know why so many people find the time to watch t.v. and go on the computer before making a call.It doesn't have to be an hour phone conversation.I guess peoples priorities are mixed up.Star Catcher who would call first?I wonder if you turned on the t.v. before you made your first call?

It seems like a simple task that we will do when we get done with the stuff we are doing at the present time, then something happens and that call may never be made before it is to late to call...take the moment to call a friend or a love one before it is to late !!! Great thought !

You are so right Dream On, probably we tend to forget how much we love to receive a call from people important for us. And I must admit that I too have a couple of persons to call. Thanks for reminding me. Thumb up. :)

I understand that your wife becomes your new love. What does it take the time to call your mom who has been in your life for so long. When her life has changed over the years and she doesn't have you or anyone close by.She lives alone and the days that were filled with lots of family are no longer. Her days are long and visitors are few.Do we wait to their wake to talk to them then.
