When Your Best Friend Goes Against you

Updated on September 10, 2012

Good friends are hard to come by and nothing hurts more than a friend who goes against you. How do you deal with it?

If your friend stops being your friend because of what others say then she is not a true friend. Easier said then done but you do not need someone who does not want you. You need to look at all of the amazing qualities you have and say that anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend.

You may think over the years you have been friends and the memories you shared but is it really worth it? It will hurt but don't you want to be friends with someone who appreciates you?

If your friend ditched you for someone else say "your loss." The same if she ditched you for a guy. It will hurt but it will get easier. You will have the memories but one day you will meet a friend who will stand by your side no matter what.

Hi Jp.....seems like you went through a tough friendship, don't sweat it, you'll make it through. I took a sentence from what you have written and will respond to it. You said, "You may think over the years you have been friends all of the memories you shared, but is it really worth it? It will hurt but don't you want to be friends with someone who appreciates you?" O.k gyrl this phrase alone explains the title of your hub. I've been there and done that but I've learned when someone/anyone goes against you, trust and believe that they are doing you a favor. The reason for friendship goes way beyond face value and at the end of the day all of the above happened for a reason. The fact that some people like to distribute pain is to remind you what should and should not ever happen again.

I understand this completely. I have definitely experienced that before. It's painful and enraging. I totally don't blame you for venting it here. I hope you enjoy your New Year!
