When a Guy Comes in Between Best Friends

Updated on October 19, 2011

A Best Friend is someone whom you share inside jokes with, cry on each other's shoulder and encourage each other when the other person need it. They are the people that you think will always be in your life. Then they meet a guy and things change. When the guy becomes controlling he may even stop the both of you from speaking.

A true friend still makes time for her friends even if she begins to date a guy. She may not be avaliable as much but she will still take time to call you and hang out with you.

If a guy is controlling or doesen't like you and doesen't want the both of you speaking and she listens then you know where she is comming from. It may hurt but a true friend stays by your side no matter what. A true friend will stand up for you and know that guys come and go but friends stay forever.

If you find yourself in this situation tell your friend how you feel. Tell her that you are happy for her but feel left out. If she says she has to not speak to you because the guy will break up with her than she is not a good friend. It's her loss and you deserve to be with someone who is true to you and won't let a guy ruin your friendship. Friendship is very special and true friends are hard to come by.

I agree. We need to appreciate our girlfriends, they are usually a great source of comfort and fun too.

My female friends are special to me. To hell if I'm going to let a man come between our friendships. Too many times, females will dump their friends because some man comes calling. If you're smart, you'll appreciate your female friends. There's always the chance that they will be there for you--no matter what happens between you and your man. If my man played me against my friends or played my friends against me, I'd dump the jerk. There is such a thing as loyalty in my books, and it doesn't necessarily mean siding with some man and whatever he feels he can do.

I think women let men come between them and their friends too much. Guys keep seeing their friends even if they are in a serious relationship. Many GF's will break a date with a friend if a guy calls, and I think that's wrong. It's also hard when both friends are "single" and then one has a steady guy. Maybe the friend is jealous, or the friend and BF don't like each other, and compete for attention. I don't think true friends should let men come between them. But sometimes seemingly petty things do change a relationship, and you have to move on. I know it hurts, and you wonder why. But people change.
