It is so easy to take your loved ones for granted

Updated on August 19, 2011

You don't know what you've got till it's gone

you should be grateful!

I think there is a lot of truth to the saying " you don't know what you've got till it is gone."

And I know that I have been guilty of not being as grateful as I should be to the people that matter the most to me in my life, which is my God my family & friends, this hub is designed to stimulate your mind to think about all that things and people in your life that you take for granted everyday and to help remind you that you truly have been blessed with an abundance of people and things that you should cherish and hold dear to your heart.

I know the 1st person that comes to my mind is God, after all he has blessed you with everything you have and can take it all away at anytime,

Another one is your spouse, when I think of all the sacrifices made and how forgiving my wife has been to me, I should literally cherish every moment I have with my wife because again, she could be gone at any given moment.

Then I think of my children and how much joy they have brought in my life, everyday that passes is an adventure with them and as I watch them grow I often have mixed emotions about that because my oldest is graduating this year and is now turning into a man and sometimes a part of me wants him to stay that little boy forever.

Then that brings to mind my parents, I am blessed because I have them both alive and fairly healthy and that they live just a few minutes drive away is awesome.

Not to even mention my friends who have helped me when I needed support whether it be a word of encouragement or a helping hand.

I think if you truly look at your own life you will find that you have a whole lot to be thankful for and I hope that you will cherish every moment and never take anything for granted.

God bless us all ;0)

I need 20 people to help me reach my dream.

A beautiful song!

This is sad but true, we all do this at times. I have a hard time with it anymore, after witnessing so many people passing away in the medical field. All there friends and loved one's feel so much guilt and sorrow, they actually are kinder to the nursing staff than to each other around a loss. It is absolutely unbelievable the things we put each other through, and not a one of use if above this in any way, just take my word for that one, kay. Beautiful and useful hub here.

Nice Hub. We all tend to do that. I guess we all get so comfortable with people in our lives, we expect them to know how we feel, and we do not feel the need to show it. But we should!

OH!, are you so right. I believe most of us are guilty of this. Great Hub and a good reminded that we ought to search our soul and be thankful for what we have. God Bless !
