How to totally let go?  We agree it's not working but both of us have not been able to...

completely let go.  How can I do this?  He wants me or he doesn't - that should be simple but it isn't.  I need to move forward without him.  ???

The only thing you can really do is to cut all contact from each other if you want to move forward.

Trying to cut all contact might do it.  Other than that you will completely let go when you have really had enough.  It will just come naturally because you will see you want something new and different and the past relationship won't interest you, it may just take a little time before you're really ready to look positively at your future without him.

Sometimes it isn't simple. Especially if you have been comfortable with the person for a long time. You just have to make a decsion and stick to it. It's like breaking an addiction. It's not easy but it's not impossible either.

I would suggest finding hobbies, hanging out with friends and keeping a journal of your progress. You will need to occupy yourself in order to keep from going back.

    Good luck!

try "no contact". no matter how much he bugs you through your common friends, don't give in to what he wants. Sometimes, when people end a relationship they feel guilty for hurting others and that's why they sometimes keep in touch. So no matter what he does, don't think that he still wants you back or anything cause you'll both just end up confused. Try to avoid anything that may go on between the two of you and see, after a while, if you really want to get back together.
