   the smallest things people figure can make the biggest difference but the thing about it is that the smallest lies make the biggest problems.

   i have learned that a lie gets you into way too much trouble than it is worth. Some people tell me that I am brutally honest, to the point where they find me kind of annoying at times. Mainly because I speak my mind on stuff that bothers me.
   
   I have a couple of friends who are the biggest liars on the planet.
   They often lie about their age, to get certain people to notice them. They will also make up huge lies when they think they might be getting into some kind of trouble, then expect me to back them up. Which I am not about to do.
   
   What irritates me even more, is knowing that you are telling the truth to someone, and they call you a liar. That really burns me up. I had that problem with my former employer, which is why I am glad that I no longer work for them. HUGE! LIARS!

   One woman and I had a talk about this.  She said she lied her whole life.  For her it became addiction and habit.  To lie became such an automatic response to just about any situation, even if it wasn't threatening, her pattern of creating stories upon stories to match the stories she told initially just became like a reflex to her.
   
   Her initial reasons to lie were to preserve her life in a life or death situation that traumatized her.  She could be lying though

   Chronic liars lie so much that they don't even know who themselves and is hard to detect.  Those who don't lie all day long are easier to detect:

   Maybe this behaviour starts for the fear of the others judgment and then becomes an habit. I do not know. My sister, when she was young, often said lies, even for small and very stuoid thing. Now she does not do it more. For me is a mistery! ( therefore I look forward to read the next answers! )

   Small or big, It depend on that person's point of view.
   
   But it is hard to lie. Because we should have a good memory power to continue with it.

   I think that sometimes it becomes a habit.  People get so used to spinning the truth to their advantage, the don't even realize they are going it.  They are only sorry if they get caught and don't seem to have an innate sense of right and wrong.

   Some people just started off telling small lies until they find themselves just doing it all the time. Its like they are addicted or have a compulsion to lie. I believe there's nothing as a small lie, a lie is a lie regardless.
