We saved money by using Winamp to DJ our wedding - nobody was the wiser and we didn't spend anything to hire a DJ. All you have to do is create your playlists as follows: pre-dinner music like soft rock, easy listening, 80s flashback, dinner music like soft pop, classical and then for the dance you start slow and build up the tempo. Your friends will be adding and moving songs all night long so no worries about the music dying as they say...it will be the best dance party you ever had and all it cost was the equipment rental.
