Well God if you believe in Him made man because he wanted someone to talk with. Yes-even God almighty needed friends.
I love friends because for me it is like looking into a mirror of myself. Because they reflect who I`m as a person. You are who you hang out with and what comes out of your mouth.
A true friend is someone who comes in when the entire world has gone out.
I once heard a man say, a friend in Need is a pest... LOL
Good Friendships take a long time to grow and most people in their live time (if they are healthy) will develop at least five good deep friendships. 5000 friends on Facebook are not friends; they are just links on the internet.
Great question thanks for asking

Because humans need companionship and without friendship and love, they are bound to keep to themselves and die of lonlieness.
friends are like bright flowers in our lives....which bloom slowly, spread the fragerance, bring brightness and make our lives colourful and joyous! Life is incomplete without friends!
We need friends for a number of reasons.
For companionship
for sharing
for doing things together
for having acquaintances who share common interests
for times that will always remain special and
to add meaning to our lives
Friends are always required by every human being. Some may get many friends some may not. If the friends you have are sincere and good, you can share things with them and seek their guidance wherever required. Those who don't have any friend are unlucky as they will be passing days lonely without any friend.
Friends are those to whom we share in everything.... When we are in needs, we look for friend's help...when are happy, we want to immediately tell the joy to our friends.
A really true friend is someone who is by your side when you are in need or trouble.
Why do we need true friends or why do we need friends? It varies for everyone differently. For some they need friends to validate who they are or maybe to be accepted. For some they feel friends equate to being cool, liked and/or somebody. Last but not least friends are a way of saying I don't stand out. I'm like everyone else, no one wants to be the odd man out. Well for others they could care less about having or the need to have friends. To some having "friends" is the introduction to creating enemies as well as remaining stagnant and not allowing themselves to grow. People do not want to offend anyone by being exactly who they are or stepping on their toes and being more than they are expected to be. So the question that I'll ask is do we really need friends if it requires all of this homework? For some people, they truly have great friends that are dedicated and loyal and unconditionally come with whatever attributes friends are suppose to have. But that is rare......so to each his own in regards to having "friends"!
