I realize many people find love on the Internet, but I never felt I could get to know someone enough this way. I have many friends I have met around the world online, but if it came to dating someone, I would need them to live in my town. I suppose it boils down to if you are interested in a long distance relationship, and these do not always work. If you met someone online who lives in the same town as you, take that relationship offline as soon as possible. There is one guy I met years ago who I really did not have much in common with, but I felt I got to know him sooner because he took our interaction offline within the same day of talking. We met for dinner and a movie. If you can meet this person in a safe public place, take the interaction offline as soon as possible. Make the interactions about your real time spent together, not IMing.
