Yes and no. No because you could take something out of context. Yes because it may be concerning a serious issue...like the extent of someone's depression.
Some people do it without meaning too. Still, no!!! Not cool at all if it is normal people in their every day lives.
Still your question is it wise? Hum, it depends on why and the agencies. LOL. Are we catching terrorists? Rapist? Murders? Than it is very cool. LOL.
N.E.
no I disagree with listening to a conversation because you will find that the problem is that it gives you a depression
You would be surprised how hard it is NOT to eavesdrop in on a conversation. If you live in the city, women in public places, such as the bus, restaurant, malls, etc talk about "things" that should probably be discussed in private. People have no censors or boundaries anymore.
most of the folks here have given v polite v pc answers.... in reality we all do it, have done it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I do not think it is wise to eavesdrop on other's conversations. It's hard not to listen sometimes when some people are so loud about their buisness.
Usually not. I've had situations where I knew people were eavesdropping on the conversation I was having. Often I will say things to deliberately steer them in a certain direction. If you are trying to overhear a conversation, more often than not the person in question is more aware of it than you think.
Eavesdropping and overhearing are two separate concepts. It is wrong to purposefully eavesdrop on a private conversation. If you happen to overhear someone because they are being to loud, that's different, especially if you hear something that needs to be addressed, like if you hear your best friend's boyfriend talking to another girl in a flirtatious way or something. Then it is wise to go and tell your friend what you've accidentally heard.
No, but we all do it. I try to mind my biz the best I can because somethings are not for me to hear.
