No time does not heal all wounds, it only brings you closer to death.

No. It takes time to find balm for bad emotional injury, or failing that to learn to live with it, but time doesn't heal it.

I've always thought was one of the dumbest things to say when someone's hurting. It's been almost 20 years and I'm still not over my dad leaving, but I think what's important is how you deal with the wound. Becoming bitter wont do you any good. The best motivation I've ever had was to prove that my self worth wasn't based on those who had hurt me.

No!  I'm not saying no because I'm speaking from personal experience.  I'm saying no because I don't believe it...... sounds silly.  You will never forget neither feel good from someone who has wounded you.  yes you will heal, but if they are not part of the "healing process", like any wound you will forever feel pain from that buried memory.

OMG I just read outside the lines comment and he has sealed my response!  Becoming bitter over anyones actions ISN't worth it, and is never worth it!  It's their loss for their actions, whatever it may be!  Good for YOU Outside...voted up!

Yes. I believe healing does take place and by that I mean (we move on). It doesn't mean we might not have a scar or bad memory left with us. (Healing doesn't mean forgetting). It just means you're mentally in a better place today than you were when you were struck with the bad news or whatever. Being happily married the 2nd time does not erase the hell a person may have gone through during their first marriage. (However healing means they no longer "dwell" on those events)
When something horrible happens to us we are initially knocked for a loop. However with time we slowly "accept" what is done, (is done). We pick ourselves up and slowly feel a little better day by day, month by month, and year by year. People have been known to overcome many horrific circumstances and go on to live a life of happiness.
If the passage of time did not help with the healing process I imagine there would be a lot more suicides!

    Absolutely not.

It may lessen the sting. But I will always remember those that sought to harm me. And I know that I still hold grudges against several people that are decades old.

No, I believe time gives you distance from the wound.. but as other fellow Hubber's said you never forget what caused that wound. Time passes and you get distracted by life so you don't think of it as often as in the beginning. You also gain skills to cope and learn to numb the wound. But it will always be there. There will always be a scar to remind you of your wound. You can try to hide it but it's still there and always will be.

It will almost be four years since my mother passed. I don't cry as much, but damn, it still hurts like hell when I think about her or see something that reminds me of her.
