I wanted to know if there is anything, anyone would have changed to have their life different now ?
I wouldn't change a thing about the way my life is at the moment. I love it as it is....because I make sure I enjoy every moment of it. Sadness or failure is as much a part of life as is happiness or success is. Have a great day! Welcome to HP!
I am pretty content with life right now. Would love to have a higher income, but who wouldn't. Looking back it would be education. When I lived in California, I could go to El Camino College for just a few dollars and did not take advantage of that. Education is much more expensive in other states - so it has been terribly expensive to pick up classes here and there.
I would've started writing earlier and gotten a professional degree right out of college.
But I'm still content with where I am. It's for a reason, I reckon.
Known better what I wanted to do out of high school. I ended up going back and forth to college and adding up debt and running out of money - so not only am I in debt up to my eye balls, I don't have a degree either! To top it all off, I can't get a job because I don't have a degree or any certifications. I haven't even got a call back from retail positions! So I feel like I'm behind in life and completely broke. It's rather depressing, and everyone looks down on you as though you're lazy or too choosy in such an economic downtime. I reality, I'm sending out dozens of applications every day and getting nothing in return. At least if I hadn't gone to school I'd have some more experience in something! Or with a technical degree I would have been done in two years and have something to show for it.
Of course there are embarrassing, sad, critical or full of frustration moments that everybody goes through at some point in their lives. But in my opinion, all of these happen with a reason. After all, they have enlarged your experience and they have made you who you are today, although you listed them as regrets in the past. The least you can do is learn something from them and find them a purpose in the present. Bad, weird and unexpected things need to happen in order for us to grow and mature properly.
I probably would have put much more focus on career and accumulating wealth in order to have more (freedom and options) in life. Money may not buy you love but it sure helps with medical care, legal issues, and having a better overall living standard.
These are things most of us don't think much about while we are partying during our 20s and 30s. If I had dedicated my youth to being super successful I would have had "the option" to retire in my 40s or start a new career that was more of a "labor of love" and not a way to make ends meet. Time really does fly.
I would have listened to my husband. I mean REALLY listened to him. That is the only thing I would have changed. Circumstances because of this have gotten me to where I am today because I didn't pay close enough attention to what he was saying. I'm doing better now, but that is the one thing I would have changed.

Are you intimidated by someone with a higher education than you?Do you feel dumber, that you can't compete or just insecure that they know more than you?

I have been called illiterate and corrected on punctuation many times. I have been told to go to college. I have been given many book suggestions by the college educated who believe I am ignorant because they have a better title than me.Tell me why your degree is smarter than me. I don't like to...

I received a notification that my Google Adsense tax information had been changed today. Did anyone else get this notification and didn't change anything? Should I worry that someone has gotten into my account?

The common wisdom is that you should go to college, get a good education, and find a job afterwards and you will be financially successful. Isn't that an outdated concept? The average college grad is unemployed for two years after graduation, and when I went to teller training a month after I...

Is it pointless to go back to college for 10 years at 30 yrs old? It's been a crazy year for me with a lot of really weird events. Plus with me turning 30 this year I started looking at my life. I always wanted a degree in Archaeology or Anthropology but never got it. I am now seriously considering...
