Quite the contrary. I believe love that experiencing the giving and receiving of love is the most important thing in life.

I guess too many people have told me not to focus too much on that aspect of life and that the basics are the most important for survival - a roof over your head, your health, your sanity. And yet, we are human and are always striving for more. I would like to think it's OK to want to passion in your life. Even if you are struggling, wouldn't a partner make your journey a little easier? Or at least more comforting?

If you are talking about romantic love, I would not call it a luxury.  It is more like a bonus.  It is not always possible to have it, but you must live, and be happy, with, or without romantic love.
Non-romantic love is a neccessity, you must give love, in order to receive.  Non-romantic love is essential for health and well being.

Love is a necessity. However when I say that I'm talking about love in a universal way. As for "romantic love" there are people all over the world doing just fine without being in a relationship or marriage. I don't think of (romantic love) as being a "luxury" but rather a "bonus". You don't need it to be complete but if you want it then you're happy to have it.
We really only have 5 basic needs as an adult aside from love of family/friends.
Air, Water, Food, Shelter, and Clothing. Ironically all of these things can be had for free in a county jail. The majority of things we have are things we "want". Getting what you want is a bonus/blessing.

In my experiences..................it has been anything but a luxury.

    It has been:

    soul revealing
    excrutaiting pain
    painful revelation

It has been accepting that the strong, muscular, able bodied, work me to death, mentality of the man that I married,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,is now TIRED and worn out,

and accepting, how this man might  now, see the broadend  hipped woman of today..........as his beloved , selvete, bride of yesterday

I still have my curves...........but the road has been widened...........

How much, credit, for living will my husband give me?

There comes a point, for some of us.........that we want to throw  our hands up.........and say, this is me!

Live with  us, or live without us.....

In our darkest dreams, we, hope that you choose to live without us.

No, I think its a necessity. As social human being, one can not exist without relationship, and love no matter who you are.

When you are in Love... You forget Luxury rather Luxuries of Life. For you your lover is everything thing. It becomes your Breath, Your heartbeat.... Your Life!!!
So Love is not Luxury as Luxury is never the basic Need but Life without Your Love Becomes Impossible.
