   The word "realistic" is subjective!
   However most men want to marry someone they are physically attracted to, enjoy spending time with, sexually compatible with, have the same goals for the marriage and agree on how to obtain them. Generally speaking opposites may attract in the short run but it's like that attracts like in the long run. The less drama the better!
   Last but most importantly is TIMING. A woman could have all of these things but if a guy is (not ready) to get married he will not. Most men don't think about marriage until they are in their late 20s or mid-30s. Unlike many little girls who have been practicing motherhood/wife duties since childhood (changing baby doll diapers, pushing strollers, cooking cakes in an Easy-Bake Oven, dressing up as a princess, decorating Ken & Barbie's dream house....etc) (Most boys never practiced being husbands or fathers in their childhood.) His toys were remote cars, planes, boats, guns, race tracks...etc He pretended to be a cop, fireman, construction worker, or soldier.
   At age 22 he is either moving out of a dorm room or his parent's basement. The last thing on his mind is getting married, buying a house, and having children regardless of how "perfect" his girlfriend may be. He does not want to become "his parents". A woman in her mid 20s who wants to get married would have better luck dating (a never married guy) in his early 30s. Timing is everything! Men always feel they can get married if they want to.

   In my case it was the bun in the oven. But seriously a man looks for a woman that he can feel comfortable with. A woman that enjoys some of the smae things that he does. This does not mean EVERYTHING. My wife and I are happy but I hate soap operas and she loves them. Does that mean that I don't watch them with her. No. I do, sometimes but we also watch OUR shows like Dexter, the Big C, Shameless, and Weeds. Mutal respect, Love, and Trust are huge. Trust me, if there is a lack of trust don't even consider getting married. It will only make things bad once the honeymoon stage is over. P.S. Men like to hear "Thank You" from time to time. Hope this helps.

   I think he wants to know if she has shared values. Are they going to raise their kids with similar values? He wants to know if she's humble and forgiving because everyone mistakes mistakes.
