Can a relationship last when one brings up the others past all the time.

When one partner wants to avoid a topic or subject and continues to bring up the other partners substance abuse past even though that partner is not using.

Some people in relationships can be so manupilative, cold and unsensitive and that can be brought by insecuties of the initiating partner, believe it or not when someone brings your past on your face time to time it basically mean they dnt trust you anymore and they want you to beat yourself for it!

its very hard to deal with a nigthtmare past, so you dont need someone who wont support you during your healing process, or else the are more chances of you repeating your past again due to low self-esteem that is inflected apon you by your partner!

the relationship will end soon anyway!

Partners should be supportive of one another; and sensitive to each others wants and needs.
If there is no reason to believe that you are using, then the partner should be more sensitive and try to help you through this time in your life, rather than running it in the ground.

When it comes to sharing information about yourself or questionable past you should always be careful with whom you shar eit with.  Dating someone doesnt entitle you to open up yourself because you are "dating" aka screwing.  You share with those that you trust!  Those that you know love you and are the for you mentally as well as spiritually.  You'll be surprised how people will look at you after you have shared pertinent  information with them.

no it means the partner asking does not have faith or trust in the other, and that hurts justs as bad as cheating on them. It makes for an unhappy home life and could force them past user into a relapse, because they are looking for a way to be happy.

no, this should be addressed.  If you (or your partner) made a mistake but you two decided to stay together, it needs to be left alone. It is not fair to bring that into an argument and serves no purpose other than to make the person bringing it up feel more powerful or prove the other person wrong by default.  If you decided to stay together, let it go.
