    Do adults still have crushes?

When was the last time you had a crush on someone???  I'm just wondering if as adults we still have crushes and are more discrete about it or has it just been labeled attraction now?

Sure, but I think the older you get the more discriminating you are. When I was a kid I got crushes (awful, all-consuming ones) at the drop of a hat. Nowadays I am much harder to win over; I guess I require a broader spectrum of "crushable" qualities.

I've maintained my school boy crush on actress Shannen Doherty for over 20 years now. Does that count?

Adults do have crushes but as you suggest that name isn't quite right for us maturer specimens of nature. Crush doesn't fit, like a jacket doesn't fit when your bulges start to interfere with fashion!
As an adult you know inside that you can't follow up on these attractions, these beguilements, because you're already committed, your emotions are set in a sort of concrete yet they want to burst out from time to time.
Younger women are more of a fascination now, they're easier to keep at a safe distance, like an exotic cat or something similar. As for screen stars - Charlotte Rampling still does it for me; her smouldering feline eyes, her elegance, her bewitching smile, her je ne sais quoi!?

I still have a crush on Andrew McCarthy since i saw St. Elmo's Fire.  Having crushes is just a pitter-patter of flutter in the heart. The weird thing about having a crush is that, i put Andrew McCarthy on a pedestal and i never had crush with anybody since, Honest! I hope my darling husband won't be reading this! ha ha ha! He'd be disappointed.

I think attraction is different. Yes, adults still have crushes. We are just more discreet about them!

It is a nature process in life whether old or young.

To me, a crush on someone can be what you admire and not necessary to be love attraction.

I know I do! As a married man, I handle them in three ways:
    - When I get a crush on my wife (once again), I act on it.
    - When I get a crush on another woman (occasionally) I bring the energy back home to my wife
    - Always, I laugh and enjoy my humanity
That takes a lot of self-discipline!

Other men may not handle crushes so well. After all, the classic image of the man with the mid-life crisis, the young girlfriend, the red sports car, and the divorce is all about two crushes (on the girl and the car), handled badly!

Absolutely! I have a serious crush on actor Jim Caviezel, from CBS's Person of Interest. I call him my pretend boyfriend. He makes my heart go pitter- patter. Anyway, my point is that we all have crushes. It's harmless fun. Some things we never outgrow - thank goodness.
