Are you noted for deeds you don't carry out rather than deeds that you actually see through?

I think it depends on who you ask. My parents definitely see me for everything I've failed at and didn't do. My husbands Mother - the same. But my husband sees me for all my strengths and successes.

For me, personally, I find that most people have a tendency to point to the things I don't do.  It's disappointing because I try to always keep my word, but at times, life gets in the way and I'm unable to fulfill a promise or complete a task.  I have found myself looking at others in the same way at times, and I do try quite hard to look for the good in others, not their flaws.  I feel fortunate enough; however, to have some beautiful friends/family members who are always quick to remember the positive things that I have done in the past.  Those are the people I love to be around. smile
People in general do tend to look at the negative, though.  For example, the old adage that says if you give a customer good service, he'll tell a friend; give a customer bad service, and he'll tell 10 friends.

unfortunately people do seem to notice what hasn't been done rather than what hasn't.  With Obama, people talk of what he's not doing rather than the good he is, actually its especially notable in politics.
In everyday life I have to admit it can be the same.  When my mother would ask me to the clean the kitchen or living room, she would only ever point out the spots I missed rather than the whole areas I did clean.  But just the same as 'relatioshipc' says, my boyfriend only ever see's the things I do rather than dont smile
