Dinner parties are often held after regular meal times. How do you change your schedule so that you do not overeat at the party, but yet still have room to enjoy the meal?

I agree, Jaydene. I try to have a small snack, such as an apple or salad, before going. I am glad to hear others do this as well.
Good point. Wine on an empty stomach could cause overload for diabetics and also cause others an emotional lift too quickly.
ANY alcohol for a diabetic is like holding a gun to their heads. Alcohol turns to pure sugar in the bloodstream. Even those who take insulin are not protected from that effect.
That is something to remember when planning dinner parties; making sure your guests who have special needs are served appropriately. Good point. I can see how your needs are important.
I have a similiar problem. I get extremely cranky and shaky when I am hungry. So, in order to avoid this problem I try to eat something small, like a cheese stick, before I go out. This helps in case dinner is late.
Some of us like to wait it out, if we can, so that the dinner is a great enjoyment. I can see how this would make dinner special with guests.
LOL! Too funny. I can relate on this, that is the reason I do have something light before going somewhere.
