I have heard too many times from men - women often use online dating as entertainment only. They might be married and yet pretend to look for a partner and some even get their kicks from introducing their "dates" to their husbands. Is it boredom or some need for sadistic pleasure?

Thank you, Dashing Scorpio, I think you are right. But it probably makes harder for those who search for real relationships.
My guess is the more expensive or serious minded sites like eHarmony probably don't get many people filling out their extensive profile just to flirt. The free sites or low fee sites tend to attract a larger group of people that may be bored.
I like this answer. I do know guys who get excited when they get a lot of replies to their profile. I love it when someone sends me a "You're Hot." message. And, I am guilty of looking more for approval than a date.
Why are you receiving e-mails from married men? By the way, if men are so good at lying, why are they often caught cheating, while the fairer sex often gets away without detection?
