This is a challenging question, which requires much pondering and thought. It should spawn a hub or two once the thought simmers with maybe a cup'pa tea or coffee.
Off the cuff I am stuck. The stuck state is discussed intimately with the work of Paul R. Schelle's series 'Natural Brillance' seeking how to release that energy. What is cool about the stuck state is it offers only opportunities. What is as you termed the 'worst thing' of it is the process through exploration a discovery, yet 'what' is that unknown . . . being sought when stuck.
On occasions I venture to that old cassette tape series, hunt down my archiac walkman player, and then seek that adventure once again. (hmmm both archiac and walkman are underlined in red - I guess they are old)
Caution when one enters that venture seeking gains or profits. With discovery comes the swing of the pendulum. Between those memories experienced near to pain based on comparison to or of and the delight of the comfort of experiences gained leading to probability of betterment lay that path of 'Natural Brilliance,' of which every individual is unique too.
If pain is dwelt upon then it is that feeling experienced of comparison to something of loss or better than usually. Yet, with transcendence, pain bore for awhile or longer, it is the fruits discovered of those experiences.
A flower withers, its pedals fall, yet when placed in an oven, low heat for a bit, soon there is not the brackish memory of loss. The presence of the perfumed scent of a Potpourri with colorful pedals of roses, tulips, or your choice here offer decor and decorum.
Oddly, a melody may arrive on a gadget of today, such as the stereo - nahh, more than likely your very own hand held phone, which is more of a computer today. Or, if it is an apple of the eye that prompts that song, maybe an ipod or similar device.
Next, if you are an author or a writer inspiration will strike. And, then a thought follows a word. Soon a paragraph. Or, maybe a poem. What of the audience? Is there anything wrong with the greed of wanting to satisfy 'self?' Isn't the self an 'audience' too?
Oddly, with creativity, whether that be singing a song while doing the laundry or the thoughts conjured by that ipod, or imagining you are Michael Douglas in the movie 'Greed' you negotiate a deal for the company you work for. It is then maybe a new discovery is made or revisited upon - the imagination of seeking discovery and adventure. Children do this daily.
