I know a lot of people that are afraid to make a serious commitment, whether it be in a relationship or a mortgage. Do you find the idea of committing to something scary or intimidating, and if so, why?

I agree with you on that, but I really don't think men think far enough ahead to fear divorce :P

Just about every guy has heard the nightmare stories of a ex-husband paying alimony, high child support, or forced to move out of a house into an apartment/condo. It may not be in the forefront of their mind but it's something every man has heard.
While it is true that something may happen, it's important to really look at the likelihood of something happening. Without trying something you'll never know and I've always been told that we regret the things we didn't do more than what we did
I'm aware. But by shopping around, sometimes I can find better deals without contracts which saves money, and I'm a real money hog.
There's nothing wrong with that attitude. I've always wondered though, if you're always looking for the next best thing, do you ever really find it?
No. So you need to learn to be content. It's difficult at times, but having those that you love around you really help you get through everything.
